That was the operating temperature. As in what temperature the FCC recommends it to operate in. Which is 5-33C.
The operating temperature of the PS3 is 5-35C. So ostensibly the PS4 is more sensitive to high temperatures.

I don't know what can happen when a game crashes due to overheating, but I remember it usually resulting in funky visual artifacts. This choppy slowdown to a halt is weird. May be the game just choking things up. I can't tell.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if that thing farts out a whole lot of hot air out the back with vigorous ferocity, thing's tiny and packed with electronics. Obviously the hotter the air, the potentially worse that is as it would imply things inside are also pretty hot, since that's where the air is coming from, and such. But as long as the components themselves remain relatively cool, everything's fine. We won't know until the thing's been out a while.

If the heats being properly expunged it shouldn't be a problem. I keep my systems away from closed in spaces, something these demo kits really aren't doing.

If you build a stable rig with good air cooling the air that leaves the vents can never be hotter than the heatsink temp, right ?
