not to mention artificially inflated console game scores, like microsoft or sony oriented magazines giving unrealistic high scores to exclusives
man , if i had nickel for everytime I heard that crap from you .........
10/10 AAAAE Essential GS scored games are a rare thing and should be celebrated for the grand achievement in the gaming industry that it is.
Against all odds, Naughty Gods came through AGAIN making PS4 an easy 2016 winner and by golly that is special.
You do know that the same GS that gave it a 10 (one reviewer) decided it isn't the best game this year? That actually got to Overwatch (decided by the whole team) ... which plays best on a PC with keyboard and mouse?
and yet Uncharted 4 scored better. I'm guessing GS felt sorry for other platforms.
yeah the feel so sorry for PC

none of those games count because arbitrary reasons
The only 90+ title PC got in 2016 was Overwatch. Might not want to believe ever bullshit meme you read on the internet idiot.
@zaryia: PC sales are dropping slowly but steadily. This isn't something you'd expect from the winning pseudo-platform.
Rightfully so since PC has never gotten the coveted 10/10 AAAAE Exclusive Essential MUST play score from GS, or a recent excluive GOTY for that matter.
But the PS4 doesn't have any AAAAE GOTY
yeah, PS4, current gen 8 console leader will have to settle for current gen 8 most recent AAAAE 10/10 Essential must play Exclusive.
*shucks*
I am very happy for PC people. Congratulations! Does this mean there won't be a need for more insecure PC superiority complex posts on here now? Then we all win!
Ehh...these results have been the same for almost a decade. Do a tally for last gen or this gen, PC is far ahead.
The reason you see a "superiority complex" is because this is SW, every faction makes threads pumping up their system......that is just you being a whiny kid crying about SW being SW.
@zaryia: PC sales are dropping slowly but steadily. This isn't something you'd expect from the winning pseudo-platform.
That is pre-built PC desktop sales. PC hardware sales are rising. PC software sales are rising.
Both are above any one particular console by an exponential factor.
not to mention artificially inflated console game scores, like microsoft or sony oriented magazines giving unrealistic high scores to exclusives
Agreed, Taking this into account would almost be unfair. The little konsole kids would blow their tops.
@R10nu:
The bogus graph in the OP is for Metacritic not GS.
You understand that using GS scores PC still has like twice the high scoring games than PS4 this gen?
Not to mention the better version of most games, better online, and actual competitive scenes (lol PS4).
So... what I got from this thread is that PC = Trump, meaning their supporters are braindead individuals. Got it
best comparison I've ever seen

Why answer the arguments, when you can talk about the avatar of the TC

The worldwide gaming market was worth a whopping $91 billion this year, according to a new Superdata Research report. Mobile gaming, powered by huge hits like Pokemon Go and Clash Royale, led the way with a total estimated market value of $41 billion, but the PC acquitted itself very well, pulling in just shy of $36 billion over the year, "driven largely by free-to-play online titles and downloadable games."
PC is like a fat ugly idiot racist woman hating scumbag?
I better stop playing that shit..
Console gamers are like a ignorant, frustrated and stupid ad hominem slingers?
Better keep owning them, it's amusing.
So many clinging to the overrated and forgotten life preserver that was a walking simulator with rehashed gameplay and half cinematic.
As usual, the majority of replies are frustrated knee jerk non arguments.
That graph in the OP doesn't even begin to describe the reality.
I honestly wouldn't mind if PC was just banned from SW "competition". It's like watching a NBA player dunk on newborn babies.
But then again, we'd be left with the twin gimp boxes and Nintendo. That's no fun either.
The gaming landscape is just too lopsided for SW now. We'll never see the balance we had in gen 6 again.

The figure that has the console only fanboys worrying is this one
Premium game revenues on the PC hit $5.4 billion for the year, not too far off of the $6.6 billion earned across consoles
This accounts for all the games that console fanboy's like to cut out.

No he didn't, he said that PC can't stop winning, just like Trump who did win the election. He never said PC IS Trump. Also it doesn't matter, TCs preference for Trump doesn't invalidate his points. There are more great games on the PC than on all other systems combined

Ah so you're splitting the platform into two groups? Pre-built and custom-built? That doesn't sound like a single platform anymore. Also, the OP never made that distinction. Furthermore, consoles never claimed to be the King, so that comparison is just a distraction.
So... what I got from this thread is that PC = Trump, meaning their supporters are braindead individuals. Got it

Looks like some hardcore PC fanboys are taking the "master race" stuff a bit too seriously.
the master race crap was always disgusting and cringe-worthy
lol. Odd that some still try to act as if consoles could ever hope to compete with PC. PC always wins. I will never understand why so many cling to consoles when they are becoming more like PC every generation. We all know where this is going. It is only a matter of time till everything is just PC.

If it's a largely closed off platform, then it's not a pc.
It will have the advantages of a pc, but for all intents and purposes remain very much a console.

And what is good about that? Closed platforms do nothing for the players. The entire systems wars thing is just silly. Why people are about loyalty to a box of plastic is beyond me. If the entire industry went open platform it would be far better for gamers.

Sony and Microsoft get higher quality games (exclusive deals) and their platforms have much higher standards than PC.
Steam doesn't care if you can't develop a game and just steal assets, it's 100% fine.

Console loyalists crack me up. There are thousands of great games on PC. Not sure why anyone should care if there are just as many bad games. Open development would mean that Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft games and PC games would be played by all not just those with a specific box. Think what you will, but this is going to happen. It is not a question of if, more a question of when. Consoles are really pointless at this point. Just look at how many games that would have been exclusive a few years ago are now on PC. Look that the direction X-box is going in with Windows for more upcoming games. The writing is on the wall. Consoles days are numbered. (10 years max would be my bet.)

Most of the best pc games are about a decade old. In general the golden period was 1998.
Almost every AAA quality game is a console port. Even genres inherently superior born on the control scheme of a mouse and keyboard such as FPS are now the domain of console, every one, barring multiplayer only where piracy is less of an issue, are now console developers with perhaps a few graphical enhancements.
Most of the resentment to consoles is because of this, with pc gamers having some deluded believe it's the console fault.
Truth is, because of the consoles closed nature, piracy was less of an issue, and to average Joe, it is more appealing.
That is indeed one of the primary strengths that allowed consoles to decimate the pc market, along with pc gamers themselves simply put - not respecting their own platform, abusing it's open nature for short sighted personal gain.
Now they kinda run round pointing fingers blaming world, with this.. elitist facade.

I think we just game on different planets. My Steam account alone has over 400 games from all eras of gaming ready to go at the touch of a button. Some were made by 3 people in a basement, others are budget blockbusters. That is the joy of open dev. Consoles cannot offer what PC can. It is what it is. I own all the Consoles, but now with Steam, I am starting to fail to see the point of them. Consoles just seem to limiting for me now. Open dev inspires creativity and I love that. To each their own.

Steams library grows every day. Sadly, while Sony gets blockbuster titles the likes of Uncharted 4 (System Wars as well as my own personal game of the year) pc gamers get incredibly low quality titles that both Sony and Microsoft would vehemently reject out of company reputation, if nothing else.
Valve have no qualms. In fact, a huge portion of steam library appeared recently, not because of a sudden rise of interest, but because of a flood gate being open for any have-a-go developer with purchased unity assets.

Blind loyalty to a plastic box? That is something worthy of pity, not respect. You point out all the "Low Quality" PC games, what about the endless high quality PC exclusives? Have you played Undertale (a small game with a story that is far more memorable than most big budget games), League of Legends, Dota, or Wow? (log onto battle net then tell me PC has no quality) Small gems like Hero Siege or Starbound, and vast MMO's Like Tree of Savior? Gone into the past with large Sega collections of the past for pennies on the dollar, or Braving the vast, worlds of Black Desert Online? You may not like these games, but you cannot act like PC has no High Quality games. I could go on forever (I really could) about PC experiences they are endless. No matter who you are or what type of game you like from any era, PC has you covered.
That is something worthy of respect not pity.

PC gamers still mad that out of their hundred millions game selection they so brazenly brag about that none of them have the quality to win GOTYs.
Funny that we hear how amazing PC games are but none of them get the kind of critical reception of console exclusives like The Last of US, Uncharted, Zelda or Mario Galaxy get which are EXCLUSIVE CONSOLE games that win the majority of GOTY awards over the PC's countless titles that hermits rant about on these forums like now.
"Bu but the bias" right?

Bu but bias? LOL not at all. I just know what consoles offer. I own all of the consoles, so I have no need to be envious of any box of plastic. I just appreciate open platform development. Console gamers seem to have a weird irrational hate for PC gaming. I just do not get it.
