Thats really all that needs to be said.. its being made by a genius and the game should be great.. i donno bout syaing it will own certain games though...
One thing is for sure though.. Lost Oddysey is going to be one bad AZZ game

1.) nobody brought sales figures into the equation, i don't think. I believe Grandstreamer was referring more to quality. 2.) Speaking of sales...If L.O. is great...if it's the first killer JRPG for a Microsoft platform, I think people will eat it up. At this point, we should all know better than to underestimate the willingness of 360 owners to drop $$$ on games. 360 owners are the biggest spenders on games in the history of gaming (considering the software attachment rate). If the number of PS3's out there are significantly less than 360's (a fairly likely scenario at the release of FF13), then it's all but a foregone conclusion that L.O. will outsell FF13. Again, all premised on L.O. being a must-have game.

That's nice but I didn't mean sales...by SW procedure I mean it will outscore FF13 here.

Not from what i have seen. Lost Odessey is a FF wanna be, (even if is made by the same creator) and its being made for a console in which Jrpgs are not soo popular, or not At all. I think Lost Odessey will eventually be on other consoles.

DQ is quite popular indeed but FF seems to be catching up to it.

If Dragon Quest comes to the 360 that would be huge for ms in japan and I personally would love it as well. I know **** is bringing new ip's but for jrpg's nobody beats square/enix in quality. If ms could get square to support the 360 with rpgs it would have a shot at selling in japan.

there is NO WAY that picture from LO is in game-it is just waaaaaaaaaaaay too clean...either way...Sakaguchi got really rusty after FFX...Teacher has been running out of steam and students will fare fine....and LO from the trailer looks more like it's going to be an action RPG....and I just am not very impressed by it.....Blue Dragon im looking forward to-looks more lighthearted....something that you dont see often in RPGs anymore...

I think both will be great games, but FF13 will have the edge because of how many people love the final fantasy series. Just remember the last ff game got a 9.0 rating so the ff series is still going strong. I think it will continue it, but I also think Lost Odyssey will be a new franchise game for the xbox 360 dat will lure in alot of new fans just like ninja gaiden did. I cant wait for both games and I know they will both be great.

Battle system on LO looks average.TBS is fine but it's old and done so much that it might cost LO some points. No word on FF13 yet but if they've made the jump to Real time, then it will probably score higher.

Unfortunately I think Microsoft messed up with the original Xbox by having hardly any variety at all. They had hardly any RPG's, let alone JRPG's, and now people dont expect JRPG's from them. They think of Sony instead. Hopefully than can redeem themselves with these Mistwalker RPG's, and maybe a few others like Eternal Sonata etc.

I would be disappointed if they didnt release in the UK & US the 3 RPG's that are coming out in Japan only so far.

DQ only outsells FF in japan, FF is the second most selling rpg Worldwide. Thats why it's the 3rd best selling franchise ever next to pokemon and mario.

FF will never have Real Time Battle system, it will always have it's turn based thing everywhere. But the battles are so fast paced that you can't even notice there is a turn based system in there, which in LO case isn't like that, it's very very slow.

Wow...it's bad enough that that the headline of this topic crossed someone's mind. If an rpg is going to top the charts in terms of sales (sales = popularity), a game with the Final Fantasy branding will almost always win hands down. I have never been one to say that graphics make a game (those people = idiots), because if you're playing an rpg, you have time to waste and you want a good story. There may be the occasional "I jerk off of good graphics" person, but people like that would be better suited buying a sports or racing game. Anyway, to see a Final Fantasy game go up against another rpg is like Brock Lesnar going up against Randy Couture (YouTube). Final Fantasy will win in terms of story, sales, and you know what? Most likely graphics as well (after all, it was originally ported for PS3 only).

I doubt it. Lost Odyssey falls apart after the first disc.Alsothe battle system was just a bland version of the judgement from the Shadow Hearts series. Good game none the less but not as great as people make it out to be. The short storiesin LO were better than the game themselvesSquare-Enix may have lost their touch but so has Sakaguchi.

Though, I believe LO's story was better than, or just as good as FFX. It's a really great JRPG.

Lost Odyssey is nothing special with sucky graphics :( FF13 must suck rly badly if you want it to be worst than Lost Odyssey. Lost odyssesy don't even have armors wtf is that fail? when you spend over 50h and you char look the same thatpiss me off.

I know this thread was brought back from the dead but i cannot just sit here and not contribute so here goes.

HELL NO!!! Final Fantasy XIII is going to mop the floor with that wanna be badass game. Lightning is 100X better character than Kaim ( the supposed badass) and I know almost nothing of Lightning.
