For the longest time it appears that Xbox 360/One ports have better contrast and color (some will say gamma) while the PS3/PS4 ports have a slightly washed out appearance. I went to Google to find out why this was and I found some interesting answers. Apparently the reason for this is the PS3 (and I'm assuming PS4 as well) defaults the RGB system settings to LIMITED, and needs a manual adjustment to set it to FULL. Also, AV enthusiasts also recommend upping the Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr settings to super white. Now, I'm not one in a position to know if this makes a difference, though I've heard people to claim this helps with that washed out look of PlayStation games, as well as helps with richer color. However, I'm wondering if the people who make these side by side comparisons have changed the systems default settings to their PS3/PS4 systems. I myself went years without touching them myself. I don't doubt though that ports will look different in some ways, it always happens. I'm just curious if they've adjusted their settings to limit these perceived differences.
MS payed EA to have Crytek lock out Sun Rays (aka God Rays) from Crysis1 in non Windows Vista (DX10) systems.
However you could edit config settings to change that. Costs 1 or 2 frames.
Lensflare now is a post processing technique that puts minimal demand on shaders, of which PS4 has more of. I have no idea why such a simple effect would be absent
Even Dreamcast games had lens flare. I remember mgs3 on ps2 with its lens flare.

As far as I know EA sports uses the X1 as their lead platform so that may explain why there is a difference. Either way I have played the game on my console and on a buddy's PS4. Can confirm it looks sharper on my X1 then his PS4... Could also be a TV issue though as we don't have the same TV's.
Dem Cow tears, can't accept the Weakstation 4 can't handle a Madden game. Looks like Sony are going to have to release some more PS2 remasters so they can pretend the PS4 can do 1080p/60fps with ease.

Not the average pc. Min req on the pc's biggest exclusives of the year are well below the new consoles specs. Civ 5 min req is an 8 year old pc and Sim 4 min req is a gpu thats weaker than last gen consoles. Looks like the average pc gamer has a weak pc.
I'm guessing that, much like with timed exclusives, MS paid EA for that sun glare to be exclusive to Xbox One.

it's just a lens flare... Most likely just a bug or something. If you compare the shadows and the illumination of objects everything's the same. Only difference is the lens flare. edit: well, I see some missing shadows too. It might be because of the position of the illumination too.

yeah I know, wtf is gamepur? but its all we really have to compare. X1 version of madden looks more colorful, ps4 version looks dark and dull.
Wheres all that power? diablo 3, now madden. and this years madden is actually getting great reviews.

While I don't give a crap about madden, but I think you got Diablo 3 backwards. The PS4 version is slightly superior locking in a higher FPS than the X1 version.
and I wouldn't say colors and dull really count, that's more on your equipment. All these videos showing them looking almost washed out, I never once had that problem on my HDTV on any system usually I'm cranking the brightness up from the defaults on every platform because everything is so dark. And the colors produced by my Sammy 8500 plasma look spectacular on every single system.
