I've played for about an hour today, and I really disagree with that review. The game is just incredibly fun and a blast to play. Its just pretty pathetic that it is the first wii game since brawl that has actually interested me.

Of course, thats one way to see it  Everybody else is dumb, Gamespot is the fairest and most respected of the bunch....WAT? lolI knew this wouldn't get AAA here, so many different glaring problems I was noticing in reviews and on top of that it just didn't look all that amazing. Glad to see GS is still holding Wii titles to high standards rather than lowering their expectations.

Madworld: IGN - 9.0 GS- 7.5 No More Heroes: IGN: 7.8 GS - 9.0 Same scenario, but Vice-Versa. Buying this tomorrow, will be a great collectors item.Im_single
atm madworld averages to a 8.7
and
No More Heroes averages 8.3
ign scores still seem fairer for these two games.
Well he says less then 5 hours.. plus its full price right? That doesn't sit well with gameplay hour per dollar.. regardless of the genre or type of game. Well, then I guess the same could be said for fighters, shooters, and several other games this generation. It didn't affect my enjoyment of a game like Gears of War or SCIV, and I don't see how it'd affect my enjoyment of this game especially since I plan on replaying it multiple times (as most people do with fighters, action games, etc., or use the online functionality). As long as the experience is good for however long it lasts (and wraps up nicely), I'm fine with it.[QUOTE="Saturos3091"]
After finishing the review, Kevin didn't even seem overly harsh. He just seemed to strongly dislike the fact the game didn't hold the players hand. The game is much more difficult and takes several more hours to beat, and for a beat-em up, a genre that hasn't seen the light of day in years, six hours is above average length.
It just goes to show that accessibility is more important than gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, and replay value, at least to these critics. I'll still be picking it up. :)110million
Wow, that was harsh, and i have to agree with some of you guys, the score almost seems wrong after reading the review, this time i'm not agree with Kevin V, i mean sure, it's short, but i dont think that it deserves a 7.5.
Still a solid score but definitely a flop.
I wonder if it's the same case between a game like MLB 09 and another baseball game that just flat out sucks. Gamespot really isn't justifying their score with the review, and games like Empire Total War, just by reading the review alone, looks like it's a 9.0 instead of an 8.5. Same with Madworld, the review should have scored the game an 8 instead of a 7.5.I knew this wouldn't get AAA here, so many different glaring problems I was noticing in reviews and on top of that it just didn't look all that amazing. Yup. I can't see anything higher than an 8.5. I have taken zero stake in GS reviews ever since Kasavin left. It has average score of 84 on Metacritic and Game rankings and only two sights have given this game a score of less than an 8. Gamespot is a shell of it's former self.Haha, I called it. :P
Resident Evil 5 you're next.

That is excluding the soon to be 5 from edge, and 7.5 from gamespot.Im glad that the game didnt review well, it doesnt change the fact its awesome, but itll keep Sheep quite for a while longer and let the real gamers battle it out on SWFirstDiscoveryOMG this is the saddest thing my eyes ever laid on in Gamespot boards. Just... :?
The Bad:
- Losing your last life to a boss means replaying the entire level
- Frustrating camera and control issues
- Lasts only around five hours.
Only 5 hours, yep, games are getting shorter these days, even Deadly Creatures was longer.
mitu123
Yep these were the flaws I was referring to, no way it had a shot at AAA.
Yeah same here I really only use IGN's scores. Like you I use a different site, that site is Gametrailers. I've started to gain a lot of respect for GT too.[QUOTE="ganon546"][QUOTE="Pandajerk29"]
i know i'm going to sound like a fanboy(not) but i really only trust ign's scores now a days.
Toriko42
Considering the amount of good games that have scored a 7.5, I'd say it's a good representation of what a really good game is here. :P

You did, good man, that doesn't sound AAA to us.[QUOTE="Lionheart08"]Yup. I can't see anything higher than an 8.5. I have taken zero stake in GS reviews ever since Kasavin left.
