ALl microsoft showed was multiplats come on RE5,FAllout,GTA4,and FF13. BAsically there conference was about xboxlive, dlc, and games we already know about.Iceman2911
Not all multiplats: GeoW 2 and Fable
And don't try chalking FF13 up as "just another multiplat."
As for the "games we already know about" criticism... KZ2 and RFOM2 were great surprises, yes?
Free online really is just for poor people, 6 dollars a month really is laughable, you pay more for a meal at subway! Let's see, PS3 lost it's exclusive cows swore would NEVER happen, not to mention games like RE5. However, 360 failed miserably considering that yes, Bungie DID cancel their game!!! WTF BUNGIE!WhatTheDunk
ps3's online is actually better because most games use dedicated servers unlike 360 which is mostly peer to peer meaning xbox live games people host the game and it runs off their own home isp upload speed which results in host advantage and lag if he doesnt have the upload bandwidth to support all the players in his game.
but there is one upside, devs actually shut down servers to playstation games after awhile, while 360 is payed service and you could more likly play the game for more years to come.

again learn about networking and what p2p is. Microsoft doesnt use p2p to host games it uses a client/server model(not dedicated but servers non the less)

LOL i have been a member of xbox live since 2002 i think i know how it works.
unreal championship the first online fps on xbox live, was peer to peer.
xbox live is the service that connects everyone together and all xbox live does is show the peoples games they hosted on their own home connection.
perfect dark zero is peer to peer, you can host a dedicated server or host p2p game.
killzone2
This game will never be released on pc,xbox360 or wii.
That's what goddamn microsoft need's a exclusive fps that will never be released on pc,wii,ps3.
halo 1/2 came to the pc and they are better on the pc, everyone knows halo 3 will be on pc, plus halo 3 sucks.
That's all there is to it...microsoft need's to get their head out of their ass and get some devs to make true exclusives so there's a actual reason to buy xbox360 bunch of dumbasses.
8800GT420
Did you really need to set up an alt account just for this? Listen, call me when Halo 3 comes to PC, but until then... Exclusive!!! Too bad, nice try at camoflage, cow.

wrong xbox live uses a client/server model to host games. You would not be able to change hosts in the middle of a game if it was p2p. Also in networking most people have NAT routers which there security features disables them from having people connect to them or send them data unless the person opens or establishes the connection first. So you would need to open up specific ports in order to host games on xbox live if it was p2p.
You may not want it, but you can bet Microsoft envy Sony's advantages listed above.Sihanouk
Like how sony envy MS's online service? remember at this years E3 when Sony spent half the show telling us how PSN will one day be like XBL? Those were good times.

nope
there's 2 ways you can set up dedicated client/server model type game on perfect dark zero games with optimatch...but you cannot play in the game.
or you can host a game and play in it and other players join...but you will have a lower ping than everyone because it's ran off ur home connection that's peer to peer.
it all depends on the interface the dev implimented into the live title.

I have pondered the matter.... nope, still exclusive. Still great.
Picked a funny time to come to GS... in the middle of the biggest ownage in gaming history, you decided to come to GS, make SYSTEM WARS of all places your first stop, just because you had to complain about Halo 3 a year after the fact? Yup, I'm sold.

Yeah mybe it is... for consoles
If we stop ignoring PC as major platform - than even medium Crysis beat hell out of MGS 4
Yeah, I wasn't involving the PC in the argument, since it'll always be the winner. Besides, this is essentially a PS3 vs. 360 thread anyway.
Basically you can host a game on your home connection and play in it...or you can turn ur 360 into a dedicated server, for other people to play in...but you cannot play in the server unless you have another 360....there's also ability for devs to run the servers for their own title so when someone host a game it's ran off a dedicated server from the dev like battlefield.

halo's running is too slow...the frame of vision fov is too zoomed in makes you dizzy cant see enough around you, the jumping is too floaty, the weapons are terrible very poorly designed, the maps are crap, you cannot pull the pin to the hand grenade and throw it before it explodes on you/timed.

90% of the games on xbox live when you host a game it's ran directly from your home broadband connection and all xbox live does is connect everyone together and shows a list where people can see you hosted that game and join.

You do connect to just one server, but not at Microsoft.
The person hosting the game is indeed a player, but he's designated as the "server" and you, connecting to him (and all other playrs,) are designated as "client." The server keeps all clients updated on the gamestate. Clients send their actions to the server, and the server, in turn, sends those actions to all other clients.
The game itself takes place on the "server" or "host", hence the term "host advantage." The host doesn't have to wait for the gamestate to be updated, HE maintains the gamestate, and everything is happening real-time on his 360. There is no "lag" for him. Ever.
P2P would designate all players as "server" and "client" ..which brings with it tons of issues (for example, EVERYONE would need a decent upstream pipeline to maintain a smooth game for all -- not just the host.) It would also create an extremely inconsistent network environment, since everyone would have widely varying latencies in relation to one another (updating peers with gamestate data will take longer with certain peers than it will with others.) It wouldn't be enjoyable at all..

Um ok?
The 360 however did entertain me with
FF13 shocker. Meaning Final Fantasy Versus 13 is always up in the air now. WHY? because this gen third party will only do timed exclusives at best. That means SPlinter cell Conviction and Champions Online will find there way onto PS3. MGS 4 is the only 3rd party exclusive this gen that i think will survive the entire gen without jumping ship.
2- The games were fantastic. Fable 2 got dated. Gears of War 2 is dated. Banjo 3 and Viva Pinata 2 are dated for this year. Infinite Undiscoverey and Last Remnant(timed) are dated. XBLA got some big games as well Portal Still Alive, Galaga Legions, Geometry Wars 2, and The South Park game. Then there is all the big 3rd party games, and Tales of Vesperia and Too Human in august that didn't even got a showing.
3- XBOX live overhaul. XBox live>PSN now. XBOX live>PSn this fall. Only kncok is the pricetag.
Where as the PS3 dissappointed in many ways as well. Its big 08 games that were shown
Resistance 2
Little Big Planet
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
The Agency
Yakuza 2
Disgea 3
Valkryie Chronicles
Socom
Thats it, no addition to there 08 lineup, which matched up against 360s fall and winter id say is a bit lacking.
PS3s best stuff
MAG- could be 2009 or 2010(Massive game, not an easy dev cycle im guessing)
Killzone 2- next year.
Infamous- next year
DC Universe Online- 2009 or 2010
With no major improvements to PSN shown.
The PSN downloadable games and PSP had a good showing. PS3 was more meh. Just like Microsoft for only talking 08.

Can you not tell time? 7pm hasn't come yet. SW really needs to have an IQ test before you're allowed to post...
You are more way, way more biased than me.
1) Millions care about Blu-ray. If you care about graphics and sounds in games, you should care about images and sounds movies, too. Or else there must be some hypocrisy going on.
2)That LIVE is better than PSN is becoming more and more debatable. It's less and less debatable that LIVE should be free.
3) Previous final fantasy games. Final Final Fantasy Versus. They all matters. Not damage control. Just bring up the facts.
4) No biased. The best in gaming features found on the PS3. The best graphics are on the PS3. To deny that is to be a fanboy. Period. I am honest enough to say LIVE is slightly better than PSN. I haven't seen that kind of honesty from you. It's not all graphics either. Sound. Multiplayer size. The best are on the PS3. Period.
5) LIVE is not much better. Not anymore. Haven't you heard of 2.41? Forgot about dedicated servers? Forgot about Blue-tooth headsets?
6) Wins in past years' librarary. Not 2008's. Not 2009's either, most likely. Like I said. Xbox 360 will never experience the likes of Metal Gear Solid 4 because its hardware is ageing. The PS3 overwhelming has the better line-up of upcoming games this E3.
7) Media junkies who can offord it now. When the PS3 gets cheaper, more people will become media junkies, too. Can' say the same for the 360.
9) Huxley is no M.A.G. it's a small game, made to be playable on a weaker console like the 360. MAG is made for the PS3 with Cell, Blu-ray, and Hard disk drive for the developer to work with.
Sihanouk
do you ever get tired of trolling. beyond the PS3 having Blu-Ray while the 360 does not, everything you have said is pure opinion.
