Man, Halo 3 is great!

There is always a group of people who dislike anything popular and thats exactly what most people who dislike Halo 3 do (or they could just be crazy PS3 fanboys that won't acknowledge a good game on the 360).

Now I'm not saying that its the best game ever made and that God Himself came down from the heavens to give us Halo 3, but I think that its a pretty good game.

Well good for you, it was the opposite in my case though.

I bought the hype from users here, I bought a 360 for HAlo 3 ( 2 weeks before release ) and some fer other games like Mass Effect. )

Everything except Mass Effect has made me realize it was a big waste of money and I now disregard anything most promoting lemmings say by default.

How come any argument against Halo always come back to it being "boring," a completely subjective opinion?

If Halo is really dull, lifeless, and boring, why is it one of the most popular FPS franchises ever? I know all of the standard arguments, "it's for noobs," "it's not Unreal tournament" yadda yadda yadda. But yet nobody seems to be able to say what they dislike about the game except for general subjective opinions about it being "ordinary."

If Halo is so ordinary, why has it sold so many damned copies? Why has virtually every single FPS game since stolen its recharable shields, and separate buttons for shoot, melee, and grenade?

To me it seems like a bunch of PC gamers who refuse to believe that a console FPS can actually be good. They just say it doesn't compare to something like Counter-Strike. They seem to dislike the fact that Halo has removed some of the reflex action that allows some people to dominate at PC shooters. It makes it so that you have to more strategic rather than skilled. They say that that is why it is not as exciting. Well, in my opinion, that is exactly what makes it more exciting, because games are not necessarily pre-determined by whoever spends the most time practing sniping without a scope.

I agree with that. There are people that call it trash but people need to realize that it is a AAA game and franchise and thats it. They can not like it and thats fine. I don't like every single AAA game that is released. But I do recognize the game as a AAA game.

Halo 3 is FPS of 2007, CoD4 may have more details like trash on the ground, but realistic shooters like that = LOL, get sneezed on and you diewok7

The multiplayer options in Halo 3 are simply amazing. No other shooter allows for a party of players playing on a single console to go online. Furthermore, you can have multiple people on one console and still go online for some co-op action. The sheer amount of things you can do in the Halo 3 multiplayer mode is simply unrivaled even though some other online shooters can be called more fun. MisterShak

Disregarding my opinion, I can see the appeal. It's a perfect console shooter control wise. It's online fleshed out and the replay value is immense.

I just find the pace disorientating, after playing games like Quake 3 and Counter Strike, I'm always searching for some kind of sprint button. It hinders my enjoyment of the franchise, I own Halo 1 and 2, I've played 3. I can acknowledge it's quality but it's just not for me.

I sorta stopped playing this game for a while after seeing the negative threads about it, but then I thought: "Why should I let a stupid fanboy affect my game playing selection?" And boy, am I glad I got back into the fight. Aside from the amasing multiplayer(some, if not the best I've ever played), an extremely fun and satisfying campaign, both gameplay and story wise. The graphics aren't neceessarily the best, but they are pretty damn good. I am so glad I got back into this game, and wholeheartetly reccomend it to anyone with or without a 360 to buy the system or the game.phantom-4112

i've played it for about 2 hours on the campaign and 3 online and i have to say if it wasnt for outstanding online play halo would be nothing infact the only good one in the seiries was halo 1 i even still play it but only on computer i dont own an Xbox yet =]

GTA4 & Fable 2 are the only reasons I am keeping it that are announced, I dont care about Banjo, I played the first 1 back on the N64 ... no interest after that, a good game ... but nothing I want now over 10 years later, Mario was bad enough, a shelved game after 1 completion.

I still believe Halo 3 is overrated and boring - and this should have gone into your blog.raynimrod

I don't see whats so amazing about the online part, I hate the fact I can't choose my own server and this match making crap which just throws me into some random game. And I can't even search for a co-op game, I have to find people on my friends or player list who happen to be playing at that exact moment. The ingame part is ok, nothing that hasn't been done before though.

After finishing the campaign and a little mess around with the online, I found myself going back to playing Gears because that is a 10 times better game than HALO3.
