All of those concerns should be considered. DO you know anything about game development TC? Its especially bad for developers with online games, they are going to fall behind schedule considerably since PSN was down for almost a full month.
They need to make money you know to make the games, seems like to me you're the one who need to stop whining.soulitaneFirst of all, I could picture someone like you lending this guy a shoulder to cry on because you obviously missed the point of his statement... His main concern was that, because Sony is giving away Two free titles to make up for PSN outage, he's afraid that between the time gamers download these games and start playing them that, they are just gonna disreguard all other content on PSN... Like he actually believes he is speaking for the general public...

If you are a standard PSN user why would you bother "paying" for a game like Outland when you can get games like Little Big Planet, Infamous, Dead Nation, and/or Super Stardust for free?
His complaint is legit.

No... I read the other stuff but, what he said about the two free games was my point! How his company makes it's money is of no concern to me... He made a valid points about the other stuff but, when he starting talking about the free content Sony is giving away as a curtisy to PSN being down is when he started sounding real stupid... The point is, what does those the free games have to do with his game not making money??? I suppose if it didn't make money, he'd be incline to blame it on Sony and the free content and not on the fact that no one wanted to play them in the first place...RecklessTortugaThe problem with you only arguing one part of what he said is that he was saying all of those thing together MAY lead to less sales. He said quite clearly what he thinks, that people MAY just play the free stuff and overlook the games that were released, couple that with lots of games being released in a short period of time MAY lead games to not sell as much as they would.

You're being incredibly ignorant. When a small dev releases there game right as a big name dev has one of their best games being offered for free, their game will not sell as well.
Would you buy a $5-$10 game when offered a game such as LBP, an award winning game, for free? Not to mention the other game you get with it
Gamers are bigger cry-babies.AAllxxjjnn
Yep, many gamers have become brats with a sense of entitlement.

it is an AAA title here. have you played it? i have and i can assure you that tons of hard work and care has gone into this game. the controls are fantastic, the art design is beautiful and the overall gameplay and level design is top notch. so yeah, that seems like pretty much AAA material to me and the creators have every single right to be concerned about how their game will fair when PSN comes to full restoration.
Umm, this outage has cost devs millions, some some devs it possible could kill them. So yes they have a reason to complain about this.

Do you really think the release delay isn't going to impact their revenue stream vs. what they would have made from the planned release? Smaller studios have to work extremely hard to build buzz for their games; all of that is pretty much gone now.
Here's some light reading on the challenges smaller studios face when promoting their games. Read up before attempting to continue this debate.

He thinks people MAY just play the free game and then move onto the new games that are being advertised on the PSN. Their games are all going to be released at the same time nearly and get very little advertisement so some gamers possibly won't even know they exist. You really should stop focusing on one part of what he said, since it was because of all those things that they might not sell as much as they would if the PSN didn't go down. One last time, you're trying to speak as if you know how every gamer thinks, which is exactly what you were complaining about at first since you though he was claiming he knew how they thought.

Solution: Buy an 'indie' game like Outland (Dead Nation apparently isn't owned by Housemarque, seeing as it was Sony/Ubi's decision to make it free), get a Sony game free. Sony doesn't owe gamers anything except an apology anyways. Sparks sales, developers get money, Sony gets licencing fees +/- distribution fees, gamers get two games for the price of one, everyone wins.
Well, what can I say? It's the cost of running a risky business... If this guy isn't willing to compete, then maybe he should look for a new line of work!!! RecklessTortuga
An easily avoidable cost through co-ordination, something that Nintendo's finally learned over this generation (See: Wii 2010, 3DS launch.) and something that Sony needs to learn. Sony doesn't make money from their in-house developers alone, they get money for licencing/distribution of third-party games too.Sony hasn't built themselves up to the same level as Nintendo so this would be just shooting themselves in the foot by destroying third-party relations.

See, this is exactly my point, If people don't have anymore ammunition to debate any farther, they start splitting-hairs on stupid stuff... Who cares if the guy said it or not; the fact is, he's running a business, obviously, no one wants to run a business with only the ambition to make hundreds or just, thousands... What would be the point??? The fact is, if this guy is unwilling to compete, then maybe he should go back and cry to his momma... I mean, seriously, I suppose other video game development companies like, Crytek, Dice, Rockstar, Nintendo, Sony, Remedy, should pack up and close their doors just so this little guys business can strive just a little?
