Are you actually serious? It's in early Alpha, lots of the things you see in the game are just placeholders. It's still in development, what exactly did you expect?

I did something mildly similar once. There was an island in Daggerfall that looked blank and you couldn't zoom to it like the other locations, so I took a horse to it instead. There was one single location, a graveyard or something. Can't remotely remember anything more than that.

Reasoning: The point of PC gaming is deciding what you think is fun and doing it, rather then playing games that have to sell six million copies in a year in order to be profitable, and are thus designed so no one could possibly feel lost, undirected, confused, or overly challenged. Heck on PC there are successful games that simulate mopping.

Besides, countless scores of hours have been poured into poking around every corner of NES&SNES games, because back in the day games used to actually have secrets. People ran around entire games attacking every surface twice for fear of missing some tasty tasty wall chicken.

It isn't taboo. No one who spends time arguing about video games on the internet has any room to tell anyone else to get a life. If there is anything in the world less productive then spending four hours swimming to an empty virtual island, it is arguing about the trip on the internet. 1. Even with all the incomplete features it's really fun. The amount of tension when you meet other players is just something that no other game has ever done, it's pretty amazing.

2. No it hasn't been a year yet. And of course there would be a huge amount of bugs.. During this stage of game development it's not about fixing bugs or optimizing anything, it's about building the game itself and adding features, which in turn actually adds to the list of bugs. Usually at this stage games just get announced and you never get to see any gameplay, and even if you do it's just a vertical slice that ends up nothing like the finished product. It's just that a lot of people are unfamiliar with how games are made and think that DayZ is broken, but in reality all games are like that in this stage, we just never get to see them. The bug fixing part comes in the beta. It clearly warns you that the game is still being made, and that if you buy it now it's to help them test the features of the game as they get added.

3. And btw, the bugs are not THAT bad. Yes, zombies go through walls, but they're fairly easy to deal with right now so it's not a problem.

Then again, playing games for any extended period of time could be looked down on in your eyes.

Here is a fact, a 4 hour skype call with friends goes by hella fast even when you're committing an act that might as well be watching paint dry...

Never heard of the game, then i checked on it and found out it's a PC game, which is why i never heard of it.....LOL didn't think anyone still played games on PC.
