im not comparing games but scores :)Yup...let's compare a Platformer/Adventure game with an RTS.

If Starcraft 2 was on the Wii it would have got a 20.wooooode
Not after being dumbed down for the port, of course >_>

AmnesiaHaze
yeah and?...still lame.
Can't really compare a RTS with a platformer. With that said, the only RTS series I enjoy are the Age games, so I'd probably rank SMG2 over Starcraft 2 anyway.
I know I'd certainly prefer to play Mario Galaxy 2 than Starcraft 2...but I don't see the point in comparing the two.PlaneforgerAgreed. I'll probably be buying Starcraft II soon anyway.
A platformer gamer :: SMG2 all the way A RTS gamer : SC2 owns your life ME , a non plat nor RTS gamer : StarCraft 2 values alone >>>>>>>>> SMG2 with closed eyes... Period , in everything. Played bothGS score wise , PC was really close to a AAAAE this time

Why are you comparing a platformer to an RTS?IppoTenmaim not really comparing the games , the topic title just refers to the scores , the point is more that pc almost got a AAAAE this time , almost

GS aren't biased but they do review games based not only on the standards of the specific platform but also on the genre. Both are fantastic but I have to agree with AzatiS, the content and quality that SC2 offers is astounding in regards to both SP and MP.

Anyways everyone but you unstands that PC will never get a 10, the pc is unlimted in it's ability so nothing will ever be perfect.
Ugh, I hate these discussions. Yes, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of the greatest games of all time, and the best in its genre. SCII probably is the best or one of the best in its genre too, but I don't play RTS all that much.
Can't we just accept that both games are great in their own right?

So its a better game according to one review (one opinion)? Nice logic. Oh wait thats SW logic... i never said that , just that it scored more on gamespot , thats a factI haven't played either but due to standards its obvious that SC2 on wii would have got 10 (in lack of higher scores) and SMG2 on PC would have probably been 9.0gamebreakerz__
I don't know about that, there's not many 3D platformers on PC so a game as well designed as SMG2 could easily get a 10 against non-existent standards.
I haven't played either but due to standards its obvious that SC2 on wii would have got 10 (in lack of higher scores) and SMG2 on PC would have probably been 9.0gamebreakerz__*facepalm* Yes I'm sure the PC gets scored on higher standards than consoles... that's why Halo Wars one of the better RTS for consoles (which isn't saying much) got a 6.5 here. REALLY adjusted to the standards there. So are PS3 and 360 also judged on a lower standard? Or are you once again showing your rabid fanboyism and unfounded hate for the Wii?

Also you should take into fact that SC2 will be played on a competive level for years to come shelling out millions in prize money and items. infamousxiiAnd this effects how good the game is... how?

Insertion completed. That'll be 10 internets please!

However your accusation of it being better according to one review is wrong, SMG2 has the higher Metascore, and is thus obviously considered better by around 70 critics. Both fantastic games I'm sure, still need to get SCII.
"insert funny face palm pic"i know my lame lil laptop cant compare to your ultra-hardcore-gaming-desktop but its enough to run the games i want and play them on my lcd tvinfamousxii
Yes. If cames like Stalker played on console like they do on a high end PC they would recieve a 10.infamousxiiAssuming they came out WITHOUT the bugs the PC STALKERs came with, and were fully modded out of the box, then MAYBE. But yes standards do exist, but more by genre than the system's hardware capabilities, which is what they imply. Starcraft II on Wii? 10. On 360? 10. On PS3? 10. Super Mario Galaxy 2 on PC? 10. Know why? The standards for RTS on consoles are extremely low, while the standards for 3-D platformers on PC are extremely low. It's not like the PC just always has higher standards.
i know my lame lil laptop cant compare to your ultra-hardcore-gaming-desktop but its enough to run the games i want and play them on my lcd tv But you said that if you didn't love PC gaming you wouldn't buy an Alienware laptop, which sounds funny to a PC gaming fan since to them it's a weak system to be playing on, especially when you just claimed to be a fan of PC gaming. Alienware is still more powerful than my laptop though.[QUOTE="infamousxii"] "insert funny face palm pic"

Have you not seen the quote from Kevin Van Ord, one of the most experienced reviewers on GS, saying that there are standards for every system compared to it's tech specs. Saying if the PCs scores were based on the console version then they would always score higher. Get your facts straight bro.
If Starcraft 2 was on the Wii it would have got a 20.wooooodeNo, it would have gotten a 1. The graphics, controls, and online would be worse than ****.
