[QUOTE="oldkingallant"][QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"]I haven't played either but due to standards its obvious that SC2 on wii would have got 10 (in lack of higher scores) and SMG2 on PC would have probably been 9.0gamebreakerz__*facepalm* Yes I'm sure the PC gets scored on higher standards than consoles... that's why Halo Wars one of the better RTS for consoles (which isn't saying much) got a 6.5 here. REALLY adjusted to the standards there. So are PS3 and 360 also judged on a lower standard? Or are you once again showing your rabid fanboyism and unfounded hate for the Wii? Bro, you fail. Have you not seen the quote from Kevin Van Ord, one of the most experienced reviewers on GS, saying that there are standards for every system compared to it's tech specs. Saying if the PCs scores were based on the console version then they would always score higher. Get your facts straight bro. Okay so because one guy at Gamespot says there are different standards for TECH (so graphics and sound, which aren't even necessary to be a perfect game from the whole GAME aspect) means that the standards of every critic vary by platform and none of them are judging gameplay? As long as graphics aren't glitchy and the sound doesn't cut out or anything a game should be able to get a perfect score without the best of the best. I'm not the one who fails, you consistently embarrass yourself in threads with your baseless Wii bashing (try OWNING every system before you criticize it, I didn't join SW until I had all 3 consoles with SOME ability to play PC games as well and could make fair comparisons). And stop calling me bro, bro is a word I reserve to let cool people call me, and you're definitely not a cool person.....
And gamebreakerz is gonna have to come into a conversation they have NOTHING to do with as they don't own a gaming rig or a Wii and start bashing the Wii and parade around with their talk about "standards." Seriously I rarely hear people bring up different standards into arguments these days, this is the last person I see consistently doing it.now your going to get the almighty hermits butthurt over this
btw how are you comparing two completely different games?

[QUOTE="raskullibur"]Even if StarCraft 2 scores a 5 its still a better game than Super Mario Galaxy 2Mario1331
oh cmon now this is just an ignorant statement
Yeah I've become very disappointed in my fellow System Warriors today... so much baseless Wii bashing today and talk of lower standards and nostalgia being the only reason SMG2 got a 10...... what's with the delayed DC? Game came out 2 months ago....By the way let's talk about standards. In 2007 Super Mario Galaxy won Gamespot's Overall Game of the Year. 2007 was a pretty tough year, there were games on other platforms that scored a 9.5... but SMG won. Huh, I guess SMG wasn't graded on a lower standard because of the Wii, seeing as it was able to beat out other 9.5 rated games on other platforms.
Now for the absurd theory that standards even vary when picking GOTY, a Wii game is more likely to win than a PC game of equal quality? Is that your explanation?

You better hope that Super Mario Galaxy 2 wins Gamespot's Game of the Year 2010, or your theory is totally disproved. Hang on a second...your argument is already fundamentally flawed. Gamespot gave Demon's Souls Game of the Year 2009 even though it got a lower score than Uncharted 2, a game from the same system.[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"][QUOTE="oldkingallant"] *facepalm* Yes I'm sure the PC gets scored on higher standards than consoles... that's why Halo Wars one of the better RTS for consoles (which isn't saying much) got a 6.5 here. "We rate games on a scale of 1 (the absolute worst) to 10 (the absolute best). The rating we assign to each game is intended to give you an at-a-glance sense of the overall quality of the game relative to other games on the same platform. However, we encourage you to read our full reviews and watch our video reviews to give context to our ratings."
So in a sense, different standards i guess.

GoTY isn't purely about best standard game though, it's the overall game of the year in terms of quality, innovation, impact enjoyment... Everything... Thus why Demon's Souls won over higher rated games.

i know what you mean, but its not like you cant play on a laptop while its charging thus battery life isnt an issue... However i do believe standard PC's are better for gaming than spending a fortune on a 'gaming' Laptop..

The standards argument would disagree.
SMG wouldnt get a 10 on the PS3/360 or PC cause it looks like ass. It'd be marked down for graphics. SC2 would get less on the 360 and PS3 then on the wii cause on the Wii it'd be graphics king ...

what?
But a 9.5 on PC is like a 10.5 on consoles. The standards are that different (considering no PC game has got a 10 yet). Not to mention the fact you are comparing a 3D platformer to a RTS, two entirely different games with entirely different genre standards.

prove it and i will disprove "If Starcraft 2 was on the Wii it would have got a 20."well smg2 could of easily gotten a 9.0 or 9.5 given the right reviewer. Kevin V had some silly issues with starcraft 2 that kept it from getting a 10. Oh well, cest la vie.

prove it and i will disprove "If Starcraft 2 was on the Wii it would have got a 20."It kinda says so in the Gamepsot info thread.
Games are rated according to the console there on. No one was expecting SMG 2 to be HD, and have excellent graphics, cause it's on the Wii. Putting it on the other consoles would of course up the graphical expectations.
You know what , if we take aside scores is a damn FACT that Nintendo fans cant bring their MOTTO """ gameplay wins "" VS SC2.
What i mean is that SC2 is as polished and well done for its genre as it is Mario for its. Not to say is way more difficult to introduce a solid RTS gameplaythan Platform but lets not talk about that.
SO if we assume gameplay is for both games at top standards. What left to compare? ( ill take aside graphics and sound dont worry )
Strong Story and campaign mode , CGIs , great Soundtrack that even hollywood movies might be jealous , great value thru MP , great action pack , epic memorable moments ,great value as a purschase since its fact SC2 gamers wil be playing online at least the next 5-6 years orto be more accurate...... till SC3 release.
Now add the community happenings and events , blizzards monthly support with patching , polishing and why not introducing new content/maps... Its not difficult to declare a clear winner between two... AND NO , im NOT an RTS fan nor im a Platformer fan. I played both and saying some facts here.
SC2s heavy value alone >>>>>>>> SMG2 by miles.... Imho.

where does it say the max wii game is scaled at .475 that of the pc's scale? show me that and i will show you where it says the ps360 scale is that of .20 of the wii's scale. the the wii game SMG beat a other systems 9.5 games for game of the year that should have told you something and that something should be along the lines of: SMG when compared to games like crysis was found to be an over all more enjoyable game. with your argument no wii game could ever win a game of the year because it would have to compete with games that outclass it, like a boys and girls club team going up against a pro team.prove it and i will disprove "If Starcraft 2 was on the Wii it would have got a 20."[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"][QUOTE="-Snooze-"]
