As much as I'm more hyped for Galaxy than to Halo 3 I can't say it's entirely true.

Providing the Wii continues its mammoth rampage it could be a clean sweep.

Their is more competition now. The old Mario's had it to themselves and for the DS Mario well look at the hardware sales. Mario Galaxies will sell great and so wont Halo 3 but if I could only get one game well that would easily go to Halo 3.

BTW I own both Wii and 360.

The only games I see useablea are the DS version,which is a handheld or the Gamecube version which like you said is a failure.

Your logic fails only because most of the games you just quoted existed back when there were no other consoles out there that really competed with Nintendo. And as for the DS, there's crap load of them out there so there should be that many sold at least (I being an owner of one of the 9.77 mil sold). :)

That's what I was thinking. I'm not saying that the new mario won't outsell Halo 3, but IMO, it's unlikely. From someone who loved Mario in the NES days, he isn't the system seller that he once was as evidenced by Sunshine. Just my opinion.

that really means nothing. A better analysis, would be comparing the ESRB rating, the amount of games bought per each console, and then the popularity of the series, and then the amount of consoles.

It's rumoured for October. The Wii can have 13 million sales by that time. Not to mention it has a LOT of casual appeal.

The reason i think Metroid can do it is because it has tons of hype, and all the wii's out there, and people who loved Halo and have a wii might see this and say "hey it's similar." And i think SSBB has a good shot because pretty much everyone who had a gamecube had SSBM and loved it. ANdSOME people dont like the wiimote and nunchuck, but SSBB has 4 different ways to use the controller.

SMG, while a great game, there are alot of posers out there who are casual gamers and think they're hardcore gamers. They might see this game and think "this isnt as action packed or bloody as halo, therefore its for losers." Then again, it's building up hype, and lots of people have the wii, many of them are kids. Its appealing to kids, yet it also appeals to retro gamers, since they were growing up in the 80's with mario. SO i definitely think it will come close, and MAYBR, just MAYBE it can do it, but it will be hard.
