Seriously why are people comparing sales? More people own a Wii than a PS3, so its a given MK is going to sell more.

"Oh look MK is selling more, it obviously is the better game." Does that make sense?

Modnation Racer actually requries skill. And as soon as people realized this, people automatically said "This gameplay sucks, I actually have to learn the mechanics of the driving" I ask again, Does that make sense?

it hoenstly does not require that much skill i one a race on the hardest difficulty on MNR on my second play through by getting my weapons to level 3. MNR tries and is ambititous but falls short

Then the items seem like they were thrown in there for the hell of it they should of left them out.

Mario1331

I think the reason behind this is they couldn't make the weapons more personalized like in MK. I would like if there was a little more variety but i understand why there isn't.

Note I said AND GAMEPLAY. Both require skill in different contexts. Out of playing both, while I DO like MNR's customizable assets, the gameplay is not so stellar and it's no fun at all. Dare I say it's not even challenging even with human players.

MKWii on the other hand is something that isn't new. And adding stunts into the mix creates a few more stretegies to learn and playing with human players and the rubber band AI make it still enjoyable if not more difficult.

MNR not challenging? So you get first place every time you race?

There are the odd times I don't win first due to the fact I am playing on someone's made racing track, but other than that it's not challenging in terms of a racing game. Neither is MKWii despite it being more difficult than Double Dash (another MK game I am not happy with). I think the only time I truly ever had a challenge in racing was F-Zero GX.

If you were so good at it then I can't comprehend how you can say the gameplay is bad. Either it plays well, and by extension you play well, or it doesn't.

As far as the challenge, did you play the career? It gets pretty tough, and the game has the same rubberband AI as MK, which isn't a positive thing by the way.

This is only ModNations first game and they are already very close to MK....once all the modnation critics are in...they will fix everything up and bring out ModNation 2. A game can only rule for so long until serious competition shows up.

Let's put it this way, aside from customization what else has MNR have going for it? Nothing. The gameplay is fine, but it's nothing new. Ergo it's bad. I expected the same from MK and I expected something different in MNR aside from customization, but nope... it's just the same with bells, bows, and whistles...

Truly I have yet to see a racing game wow me like F-Zero GX did.

I've never played MNR, but I find it hard to believe that its worse than MK. MK has very limited content, and probably the worst controls of any game this gen.

Mario1331

you sound like you just hate the MK series so you post is not even debateable since its bias

Yeah since I've enjoyed every mario kart game up to this point

Your user name is Mario1331, so you sound like you just love mario games, so your post is not even debatable since its bias.

[QUOTE="farnham"][QUOTE="Timstuff"][QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"] Yes you can, but not here. You can play the review score game, 8.5 for MK Wii, 8.0 for MNR. Should have at least matched it, MNR is on par with SEGA and Sonic Racing. Sorry to break it to you.

Looking at Game Rankings they scored about the same.

scored about the same and the general public sayz that MK Wii is way better sorry you loose

20k posts and you still post like this? Wow.

Saw what you did there, but it doesn't help your case. Halo's MP is what it has going for it. Let's say competitor B comes in and does the exact same thing only with more customization options. Which would you choose? The original for knowing it will have more of the same? Or the new product that only has new bells and whistles but nothing to breaks itself from an already formed mold?
