This is a good description, and I think you start to see it with the Arkham games in particular as the entries continue all the way to suicide squad.

Their is still a semblance of the comic book design here and their, but the characters increasingly just look like that.

I feel like Arkham City was the point where it got the art direction down in conjunction with the tech where it still had that comic book, cartoon like aesthetic as to be visually appealing. (and Origins as well)

Once get to the next main entry start to see the decline in art direction as they focus more on realism.

And when get to Suicide Squad, isn't really any character to it, just mocap cosplay looking motherfuckers for the most part, that has become normalized as to just be incredibly bland and by the numbers at this point.

It's not wishful thinking it's just an obvious observation and a likely scenario. Nearly 15,000 people were laid off in the game industry last year and it was nearly all from American and European devs. It's sad honestly and certainly nothing I ever wanted to see but in all likelihood most western game development will be outsourced to China and AI within the next 10 years, maybe even less and you all have no one but yourselves to blame 🤷‍♂️

As you force your ideological bullshit into games and drive off the majority of your customers the East is simply trying to make games that will sell. Do you think China cares about crunch, unions and 80 hour work weeks? I'm not saying that's the standard western devs should be expected to maintain but it is the standard you will see in China.

What about all the harassment charges filed by western studios? Is it standard for these ultra progressives virtue signaling game developers to all be radical perverts that harass all their females staff? Or could it be that western game developers consider any type of criticism harassment? Either way do you think that shit happens often in China?

The publishers are going to see there's a place they can get their games made cheaper without all the bullshit. And that's exactly what they are going to do... and honestly it sucks. I wish the West would get their shit together and stop attacking a large portion of their fans but it seems unlikely.

New season feels great so far. Game is more optimized and whilst most characters are still broken, it feels balanced, cos everybody's broken haha. This is a much better game than overwatch for sure.
