[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"] ... Capcom has full right to do as it pleases... Either buy it or don't buy it.. With out the DLC the reviewers thought this game was already solid to begin with.. The DLC was just a optional bonus you didn't need to get.. sSubZerOo
...I know.
We're not here to argue what Capcom can and cannot do, it's about what they should do. You paid $60 for a game, it's not too much to ask from Capcom to include all of your favourite characters instead of leaving you out in the cold.
:|I would agree if it were not for the fact they shipped 36 CHARACTERS... It sounds like your a fanboy that is upset not to see their favorite character in it.. Its pointless, the only thing coming close to a real complaint would be if the game shipped with few characters..
Granted, if they had included it as an expansion with various different characters, levels, skins etc it have at least been worth the price. But charging money for one sole character, or level, or skin?
Where does it say that? Furthermore who says you need to get it? The game is considered complete, the only thing extra now is all gravy that doesn't need to be bought, except to the peopel whor eally like it..
Please. You're not going to get very far in business if you're going to disgruntle your own fanbase.
That makes alot of sense when DLC's are increasing, and so are their sales... If this is what it takes to give game support after its release I am all for it... If the game allows me to play 50 hours or more at least and than adds even MORE value with a minscule charge.. I am all for it.. But yet again no one is stopping you from not buying it.. You guys think you have been shorted.. But yet again this rationale for this game is ridiculous..
Why are you trying so hard to defend Capcom?
I'm fine with paying for DLC, but the fact is: Capcom is charging us extra to use data that's already on the disc. How do you not see the problem with that? By accepting this as it is, you're basically giving developers the 'ok' to lock out content.
and watch everyone complaining buy the DLC on day one.LP4EVA2005dude thats why theyre complaining, thats why they are mad, capcom knows that hardcore fans of the series want the complete roster, thats why im pissed lol 5 bucks a character... god by the time all the dlc is out this game is gonna cost me 140 bucks.... and i dont wanna spend that... "but i know i sadly will if its availiable, **** my life
Yeah I'll just be waiting until this game goes super cheap, like super street fighter 4 has done. That game is only £12 in various places now.
Yeah, I'm definitely waiting for the final product next year.
GreenGoblin2099
Or this. Super MVC3: What we left out to screw you over edition.

Because Capcom really didn't short change us at all.
36 Characters. That's the Same as Super Street Fighter IV, if you're not satisfied with just that then tough luck.
Who cares if there's extra characters on the disc, Would you rather have an unfinish Characters in the roster or wait till it's finished?
does anyone even want shuma? i hted him in 2 i know im only interested in jill and hopefully new people like iron fist or blade
This is common practice for a lot of developers now. I fail to see how this is a surprise to anyone. Sure, it's messed up, and we can thank Halo and Call of Duty map packs for this.Merex760Were those on the disc already?
Who cares if there's extra characters on the disc, Would you rather have an unfinish Characters in the roster or wait till it's finished?LegatoSkyheartI would rather see them not charge for extra characters in fighting games, because that completely destroys any semblance of competitive balance.

Even though I don't agree with Capcom's tactics I agree with your post. 36 characters is a pretty good number and it'll take some time to master all of them. And if some don't like it, don't purchase the content. Bottom line.. We all would like to see 100 characters with this game, but realistically that's not going to happen. And there are surely omissions that we'd all like to see (personally I'd rather see a return of venom instead of spiderman). Either way I'll still get 100+ hours out of this game regardless of who they include.[QUOTE="slothboyadvance"]

I think the argument is that Capcom probally held back on certain characters.[QUOTE="slothboyadvance"]

Sequels usually have more characters than the previous installment, not less. And id forgive them because MvC2 had too many characters but they can atleast have the courtesy to keep their franchises stars in favor of pieces of trash like modok.
Imagine Nintendo removed Star Fox, Captain Falcon, and Link and instead added a goomba, Birdo, and shy guy. I bet all the Nintendo fans would be just ecstatic.
EDIT: kind of went off topic with this one but still the dlc kind of defeats the purpose of keeping competitive play balanced and why have the character on disc but not include them. Capcom could have easily just let them squeeze into the roster then add dlc later but no, they care about $$$$$$$$ more than their actual fanbase.
She's not even closed to finish if you actually bothered to read the article..
Seriously, why the f*** do people link articles and not even bother reading them? One of these days I'm going to grab the most random link and post it on SW under a different title. You'll all just take my word for the article without even reading it yourself.

Difference is Smash is garbage while Versus games are actually worth playing..
i remember back in the day Mortal Kombat had 7 characters
CheveLoco
And they all played exactly the same besides their special moves.... which in some cases where exactly the same with a different animation.

Apparently.
Just watch, the download for Shuma and Jill will a few MB, if that. Just like Street Fighter 4's costumes and Resident Evil 5's multiplayer mode.

Personal preference has nothing to do with the argument.

You probably haven't played the game, but modok is actually a character with enough gameplay distinctions to justify itself as part of the game.
And people probably didn't notice that jill and shuma gorath are free for limited edition buyers. That means people who get them will have already paid 10 dollars above the people with regular editions, the same price as both characters together as dlc. Meaning capcom wanted as much people buying the limited edition as possible, since you get even more stuff on top of the regular edition that way.
LOL @ the reactions here Didn't you keep in mind that its just $ 10???? Its cheap! Also, not only its optional, but the DLC are there because they couldn't put them in the disc due to budget and time constraintsLastRambo341
Yea these reactions are kinda funny. People are acting like this is the first time this has happened.
Microsoft didn't make it common, they introduced it (there's a difference). The reason it is common it's because the consumer reacted positively (buying DLC) and the developers found a good way of increasing profits in it. So the three components of this industry (the consumer, the console makers and the developers) are happy. Seems like it was a good idea.[QUOTE="IronBass"][QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]You know what I meant. Microsoft is responsible for making DLC *robbery* a common thing in the gaming world.Espada12
Actually microsoft did make it common. Map packs, avatars and such.. not only that buy the force all devs to charge for any content on live.
You don't make something common by offering it. You make it common by selling lots of it. And you can't sell anything if there's no buyer. So the buyer is actually the one that allows this to happen.
The only way people can quell this dlc rip off some companies pull is to not buy the said dlc. But that aint gona happen and these companies know it. So they will only continue to get worse with this crap. Alot of people feel they have to have the newest CoD map packs, extra characters, new cars,etc... Vote with your wallets people!
You're penalizing yourself, buddy. That's lame. Crap like this is why I will not be buying this game at full price. If I'm going to pay $60 for a game, I'd better be getting the whole thing. If I have to spend $30 to unlock everything I'll wait until the disc is $30.
Timstuff
This is why I won't EVER buy a single thing from crapcom anymore.
You don't even get the full game when buying the game. The disc is yours but they still control the content you can access on it.
Crapcom is only getting a big middle finger from me. It's a shame really, the game actually looked good but stuff like this puts me off.

While they can release a simple update to fix her and not charge for it? Yeah...I'll believe it when I see it.

$5 for each character? Really now? So 3 characters would be $15 vs 5 maps for $15, if that's the case MvC3 DLC is now more of a ripoff than Black Ops . *Probably have to buy the alt costumes for these characters as well.*
