No X-Men characters? Seriously?? No one wants to play as garbage ass generic characters like "Ant Man", over Wolverine, Magneto, Nightcrawler etc.
This might be the most serious issue with the Game.
Yup that is lame.
@lawlessx: "So much for not being on the XBOX ONE"
What about The Switch? =(
It should be able to run on the Switch. Its a fighting game. But they chose not to put it on the Switch.
@StrongBlackVine: yeah too bad I also own a PS4 and a Wii U, so I get to enjoy all console games across whichever platform I want to. And unlike you I don't catch an erection for every Sony conference where they announce games 2+ years out with trailers lacking gameplay.
It's not relief over some far fetched theory coming true, it was common sense, something fanboys like yourself lack. SFV didn't do well and Capcom would have been dumb to limit its audience again. Accept your ownange and leave bro. You were wrong and now you're embarrassing yourself.
Sorry but it's not going to happen. Capcom's licensing deal ran out and with Disney owning Marvel you won't see many crossover, compared to movie licensed games or the LEGO marvel games. If there isn't huge profit to be made, then Disney doesn't care. See the Infinity games that were scrapped for not making enough money for Disney despite them selling well and fans seeming to enjoy them. This news is busted!
I forgive you
@GameboyTroy: "It should be able to run on the Switch. Its a fighting game. But they chose not to put it on the Switch."
Isn't one of themes of The Switch is 3rd party support?
And yet, it seems like Marvel vs Capcom and Red Dead Redemption 2 won't appear on The Switch.

switch is appealing to another market. the family gaming community and with some hardcore games thrown in for variety.
thats how the wii beat ps3 and 360 even when they didnt have marvel vs capcom 3 street fighter 4 and the last of us.
@KBFloYd: "thats how the wii beat ps3 and 360"
The Wii is something that just caught on with the masses like a one hit wonder song.
Combine the PS3/360 sold more. The point of that is imagine if 360 didn't exist or vice versa.
in 2010 when the wii was still getting games it was outselling the ps3 and 360 combined. after that year nintendo started to cut off support... 2011 and 2012 was pretty dry. that's when ps3 and 360 started to comeback. by the time wiiu came out 3 years later then 360 and ps3 combined plus the wii sales coming to halt made the 360/ps3 combined take over completely.
reggie said switch is going for the blue ocean and ps4/x1 are fighting in the read ocean. different games will be on switch. not the same as ps4/x1.
switch will get the tons of 3rd party the handhelds get. will nintendo release a new handheld in two years? if nintendo is putting everything on switch. then the switch will have just as many 3rd party exclusives as the playstation. maybe more. will this translate to sales who knows.
also, the wii being a fluke is a cop out. try arguing the actual numbers and games instead of just saying wii was a "one hit wonder" song. especially considering nintendo are far from a 1 hit gaming company.
no assists... presumably only teams of two
wtf is capcom thinking
For the core player? They're thinking about something that can be reasonably balanced, trying to have a majority of the cast be viable picks, and doing away with the issue of throw away assist characters.
For the casual player? All of the above + accessibility.
Not saying it's the right move as MvC fans never seemed to mind having a busted game. Most of them seem to be fine with only a narrow section of the cast being viable. And tbh I never cared either lol. I never got serious about MvC, I just played these games for the frantic fun. I didn't mind if my favorite picks were weak sauce.
But if it does yield a better balanced game with more (viable) variety then I'm all for it.

If it can't get MvC then the Switch might have a big problem graphically. Fighting games use less power from a system and the areas are small. That lack of support is already starting to happen for it.
Here's an interview for the game.

It's gonna be my main issue with the game if it is true.
No, I don't think adding a few MCU characters into the roster will make up for the loss of X-Men characters.
Deadpool raked in tons of money this year, the X-Men movies are doing well, and as much as Disney wants to bury the X-Men because they can't get along with Fox, there is no argument that the X-Men have been one of Marvel's biggest franchises for decades.
Not to mention, the entire Capcom Marvel series started in 1994 with an X-Men fighting game. The X-Men have been a part of the series from the start.
We can still have Black Panther and Wolverine in the game. Having an X-Men does not mean an MCU character can't show up either.
There would be no reason to not include X-Men outside of Disney playing hardball because they don't have any movie rights to the franchise.
Interesting. So it's the first time in a long time that a fighting game is being developed in-house at Capcom, rather than being outsourced to developers like Dimps and Eighting. And Marvel has much greater input into the game's production this time around.
Makes me wonder if spiderman going to be ps only special character since Sony has the right for spiderman.
It's only rumored that there's won't be any Xmen in. Don't believe rumors from people who have no idea how the entertainment industry works and how deals are made. They're most likely in.
I think Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, and Deadpool are locks at this point.
Those four are pretty much the most popular and well-known characters from the franchise at this point and they tend to be popular picks
I can see characters like Cyclops, Phoenix, Gambit and Sentinel being DLC as well.
The X-Men are safe now that I think about it, and Marvel themselves have said that they aren't off the table.
I think they will be in, but will not be promoted as much as characters from the MCU. Hence why Iron Man showed up in the trailer instead of Wolverine. Also, I don't think the X-Men will have any newcomers in this game.
All the X-Men will likely be veterans of the previous Capcom Marvel games. I don't see Marvel wanting any newcomers from the franchise in this game(not that it really affects much, given most of the popular X-Men have already been in the series in at least one game)
I hope that MvC: Infinite is on all systems but some how I think Capcom will see that Sony money and be like yes we'll only make this game for the PC and PS4/PS5. Would it be a mistake? Maybe I mean SFV was a mild success so I guess doing it again wouldn't hurt. But if Capcom were smart I would release it across all platforms.

Did you skip the thread title or something?
@kudotsunodafan: Did you forget this is Capcom kings of retard moves such as no longer making Mega man games, and turning resident evil in an action game instead of survival horror. I trust Capcom like I trust the Cleveland Browns to one day have a winning season.
Makes me wonder if spiderman going to be ps only special character since Sony has the right for spiderman.
Good point. If Sony wanted, they could force Capcom to make Spider-Man a PlayStation-exclusive character, since they'd need to get the Spider-Man license from Sony.
But then again, Sony were okay with Spider-Man appearing in the Xbox versions of MVC3.
@360ru13r: They're turning things around, RE7 looks to be back to its horror roots (although I'm not sold on the fp view), RE2 remake is in the works which people have been asking for forever, SFV might be the best fighter in the past 10 years, they aren't perfect bit they're coming around slowly.

Yeah they better not water down the game play. Also, if it is as slow as SFV I will thrash big time. It must be fast like MvC2.
Here's a rumour.

They shouldn't have gotten rid of the assists and make it have teams of 2. That would make it a little more watered down than TvC. They should at least make it have teams of 3.

Sony doesn't own the game license to Spiderman, because they don't own Spiderman. They have Spiderman's movie rights, as in just the right to make the movie and have him appear on the big screen. Even the movie games aren't tied to Sony's agreement with Marvel.
