Mass Effect 2 being dumbed down for the "shooter" crowd.

One of the things i didn't like much about Mass Effect was the fact that it felt like a shooter with some some RPG elements in it, seems now they're just gonna drop the whole RPG thing and mkae just another Sci-fi shooter. UGH

Bioware has been turned to the "mainstream". Something I thought wouldn't happen.

After seeing the recent ME2 footage it seems the same. Also part one did feel like a shooter. I dont know what people are talking about.

Oh please, improving the combat isn't going to ruin the game.

I thought it was always a shooter RPG? Is there any evidence of Bioware removing rpg components vs adding more real-time shooter elements?

I'm going to wait until I see some gameplay before I judge it. I loved the first game and I expect this to be no different. I just know the story is going to be epic:D

and what point in the article does it give you that idea? beause he said the game is going to feel abit more like a shooter than the last game?

I think some of you need to learn the definition of Roleplaying.

Why not? Mass Effect bascially hit everything with a deep RPG system, they're making the game better with better combat.

Atleast people can't complain about no moving and shooting, unlike a certain amazing game.

Wow my hype meter went below -10,Mass effect was to much of a shooter and it was plagued with bugs and glitches since 360 hardware couldn't handle the intense action of the gameplay..Ah oh well bioware Nice to know you!:(

Hmm, ran just spiffy for me. It had some framerate hiccups, but that's it. I also own it for PC.

Not sure what version you were playing the texture loading on the 360 verison was horrible and very noticable and on Top of that some action sequence slowed down the gameplay..That's why it got docked to an 8.5 here.

TC...there's always Dragon Age,that's supposed to be Bioware's venture back into their Baldur's gate/NWN days.

I don't consider some texture pop-in a good reason to bash a fantastic title. Uncharted, Gears, and so many other titles had texture pop-in. It's the least of my concern. I can wait a second for them to "pop". Mass Effect is a stellar title.

it is hard to believe anything kotaku says about any exclusive game on the 360. they are being feed ALOT of sony money. one example is how they praized ninja gaiden sigma 2 and told us it will have mroe feature in all aspects than ninaj gaiden 2 and FAIL to mention that the will be no blood and where not even sure that bofies do not disappear. anyways you cant take anything kotaku says about any platform that is not japanese seriously they are VERY biased.

All he says is they're working on making it better for shooter fans, he never said he was dumbing down the RPG elements of the game.

Not really. It will be a timed exclusive on the 360 and then it will come to the PC a couple of months later.

I'm not gonna read the three pages worth of replies or even the OP, but I'm gonna be comfortable in guessing that it's another case of interpretting "improving combat mechanics" as "giving combat greater emphasis".
