People are downplaying what VideoGameGuy is saying. Have any of you thought that maybe, just maybe the fact that Bioware is putting so much emphasis into improving combat might compromise other aspects of the game...like ACTUAL role-playing? It's fine if Bioware wants to tweak and improve the way weapons are handled. But for there to be a whole article about it making it seem like it is one of Bioware's primary focuses is disturbing to me. I'd like a bunch of new RPG elements in the game also. Are those going to be neglected because Bioware is so concerned about completely revamping the weapons system?
The title is misleading, and people here are being melodramatic. Mass Effect has always wanted to be a "Shooter RPG," the are just trying to improve the shooter part. Whats so bad about that?
Well what the **** do you want? Turn based combat? Cause i don't!AAllxxjjnnAgreed. That's why I love Bioware. Jade Empire was one of my favorite titles last gen. My turn off to JRPG's is from a history with them and turn based combat. I am the only member of my gaming friends who didn't like FF7. Give me western, action rpg's anyday.

I think some of you need to learn the definition of Roleplaying.
enygma500
in the gaming world roleplaying genrally means the game is going to tell a long and in depth story.
And ME1 didn't?Making the controls better won't kill the RPG elements. Go play the first one and come back with a mind.
