It has the combat dept and complexity of WoW.
The first two levels of WoW that is.
If you want to call it an RPG be my guest, but you are just downgrading other real RPG games out there. If we call ME2 an rpg we might as well call Infamous RPG.

Its more of a shooter then an RPG, but that is what Mass Effect should have been in the first place.

Agreed.
The Mass Effect series' strength lies in its presentation, not in the depth of its choices. Mass Effect 2 might've simplified a lot of the RPG elements, but that suited the game well.
I'm not sure if I'd go as far as calling it "not an RPG", but as soon as player skill started determining how good you were in combat...eh, perhaps that's an accurate description.
*edit* Still, it had some interesting ideas. If the interrupt system was expanded upon, allowing you to choose from a number of different options (rather than just "left click for badness, right click for goodness"), then that could be very useful for other RPGs. More choices is always a good thing.
[QUOTE="Vaasman"]No it isn't. Lie to yourself all you want.It not a full RPG but it got RPG elements so yes you can call it an RPG.Just couldn't take the hint last time, could you?

Well good for you. Someone doesn't agree with you bookmark their page and call him a troll. You know what? It's still isn't an RPG. It's a shooter and a mediocre one at best.I'm going to bookmark this topic just incase he post another thread like this. He did provide me laughs though.

I'm pretty sure it's a fact that ME2 is an Action RPG. There nothing to agree or disagree. The fact that you keep calling ME2 a shooter while not listening to our post mean you're a troll. Hell right now I'm feeding you. It got enough RPG elements to be an RPG. It just more of a shooter.
And Final Fantasy is a turn based strategy game, Morrowind is a hack'n slash game, Fallout is a shooter, Baldur's Gate is a real time strategy game. By your logic, none of them is an RPG game, so I have to ask the question - what is an RPG game by your standards?Supafly1Inventory, Items, Classes, Levels , Spells (2 spells doesn't make an RPG), Trading, Open worlds, potions, quests,. I know that ME2 had some of these elements, but in the end it felt like playing a lesser version of Gears of War. That's what i didn't like.

Nothing at all. Potions neither. =/ I think you are confusing "genre" with "setting". ME2 has practically every element that define a RPG, which are handled lightly because the game being a shooter, too. Hence its definition of Shooter/RPG, the definition that practically the whole industry accepts as the genre ME2 belongs to.

Hiding behind cover and waiting for regeneration is so a shooter.

Hiding behind cover and regenerating is something i was expecting from a Call of Duty game, not a RPG.Please Log In to post.
