It could use JRPG combat and increase sales in Japan and demand for it to be ported to ps3 even more? Or atleast offer more weapons if it is FPS combat...

360 doesn't need to be saved in sales on last checking.
Maybe in jpn but it was never going to sell alot in jpn not yet atleast, but it outsold the original xbox long ago.
I didn't realize the 360 needed saving.

Its way behind the Wii and the Ps3 is catching up >_> in sales but it still has amazing games coming

I think the "save" part is about 360 sales in Japan.I didn't realize the 360 needed saving.

Edit: Nvm...
Mass Effect is not a system seller, even though it is on par with the quality of system selling games. Even if it is JRPG style Japanese ppl won't buy it because it isn't made in Japan and therefore sux.mysterj
Wait Japanese not like American games, I though it was just the FPS games?
The mere idea makes me want to throw up lol.

It could use ATB or combine shooting and TB gameplay like if you reload you can activate turn based mode and mellee and when you exit you can shoot again idk.
Or MS could do a Lost Odyssey Halo cross over to help global sells
I mean Fallout did it nice with the VATS thing where you could pause and pick parts except in this enemies could do it backBanjo_KongfooieThat's not JRPG combat.
Wait what... I love JRPGs more than most people on this board, but I would probably have to shoot someone if they made Mass Effect 3 JRPGish....

what...the...hell? I second this...... make ME a jrpg. That would happen in a cold day in hell.[QUOTE="Banjo_Kongfooie"]I mean Fallout did it nice with the VATS thing where you could pause and pick parts except in this enemies could do it backIronBassThat's not JRPG combat. It half turn base, half real time shooter. And turn based state with wrpgs.

They don't like all things non-Japan, only thing that will sell 360 in Japan is if some major franchise like Final Fantasy/Dragon quest/Tales/Monster Hunter releasing an exclusive game on 360.Why would adding JRPG elements in battle make the Japanese gaming populace want to buy it? This is the same kind of thinking that people pursue when making shovelware. They think that the gamers they are aiming for would want to buy their games just because they copied the formula and make slight variations. You have to understand why people like JRPGs and proceed from there.

what is a JRPG combat ? He's referring to turn base.It half turn base, half real time shooter. And turn based state with wrpgs.dreman999
VATS is not turn-based.
"Turn-based" means your opponent has also a turn while your character is "resting".
Mass Effect 2 is an Overrated Shooter disguised as an RPG.LegatoSkyheartEvery single popular/high rated game in gaming history is overrated.

Fallout 1 and 2 were turn based, but the combat was quite unlike most (or all?) JRPGs. Fallout 3 mostly dropped turn-based for real-time combat (aside from VATS), and New Vegas is throwing in iron sights...so, like with Mass Effect, the trend has been away from classic RPG combat and more towards FPS/TPS combat.
If they gave Mass Effect 3 Halo's combat, it'd sell much more than if they gave it Final Fantasy 13's. Not that they need to change anything at all to make the game sell well, nor will Mass Effect 3 sell a huge number of 360s (it's not even exclusive).

More like how some people disguise their ignorance (in this case not knowing an RPG right in front of them) as a forum comment ;)
Dragon Age, which was a better RPG (read: RPG) didnt sell as well on the 360 as ME2, simply because there was no shooting invovled. that's all there is to it.rawr89That's hardly the only reason. ME2 was a sequel of an existing and beloved franchise with a big fanbase, while DAO is a new IP. ME2 was released with less competition. ME2 was marketed more. DAO was also on more systems, which affect the sales coming from multi-console owners. Also, ME2 got better reviews.
BioWare will never make ME3 a JRPG, they won't make a JRPG period, and EA wouldn't publish it.
BioWare knows what sells and what doesn't.
If it happened (which it never will), they would lose the entire U.S. market in an instant.
I didn't know it was turn-based JRPG's that were the highest selling games in Japan.
And why would they want to be successful in Japan when they've already got the Western market on lockdown? Not to mention how many millions of people changing the game would alienate in the West.
All I want to see come from ME3, aside from an amazing story, is more exploration and perhaps a little more inventory managment.
These ideas are stupid. I'm sure BioWare don't care about Japan. It could use JRPG combat and increase sales in Japan and demand for it to be ported to ps3 even more? Or atleast offer more weapons if it is FPS combat...
