No, and no. And it's not gonna use turn-based combat.IronBasswell if it did, then it would win one more consumer (me) .

Man, this poll is bad; it needs an option that lets you say that it doesn't need jrpg elements. No and no and never, Mass Effect is great as it is, adding JRPG elements will be bad for such a great game. Anyways, I doubt Bioware would do that, they are anti-JRPG. Miroku32
Most JRPG's are garbage anyway, except for a few really good ones which were Final Fantasy 1-6 LOL

You take that back! LO was awesome!ewwwww... seriously.... ewwwwwwIt could use JRPG combat and increase sales in Japan and demand for it to be ported to ps3 even more? Or atleast offer more weapons if it is FPS combat...

[QUOTE="Banjo_Kongfooie"]what...the...hell? hahaha.... I had the same reaction. absolutly the worst suggestion ever made by a human being ever... do you know why JRPG's are fading away? because Western Developers have surpassed the Japanese in game design. period. changing mass effect to JRPG style gameplay on the third game would be like watching your waiter bring you a fine piece of steak, all to get to your table, drop his pants and duece all over it.It could use JRPG combat and increase sales in Japan and demand for it to be ported to ps3 even more? Mass Effect is already jRPG enough by not having any choices.ampiva
You need to choose your words better. :|
For that matter, instead of looking how we could incorporate JRPG styIe into Mass Effect, how about instead we examine how we could put actual role playing into JRPGs ;)
The only way it would sell more in Japan, is if everyone looked and acted like an anime character...

u hurt my brain with stupid sir.
Firstly, Mass Effect would never change to a JRPG game as that would kill the franchise. Secondly, it does not have FPS combat. Thirdly, the 360 doesn't need saving as it is still selling well. In fact, no console needs saving as they are all selling well.It could use JRPG combat and increase sales in Japan and demand for it to be ported to ps3 even more? Or atleast offer more weapons if it is FPS combat...

Wow instead of reading my coment you bash japanese games... Some of the best games are made by japanese dev's I know for the 360 my favorite games are Dead Rising and Resident Evil 5... Oblivion Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age are runner up...It could use JRPG combat and increase sales in Japan and demand for it to be ported to ps3 even more? Mass Effect is a linear game but they are applying Morrowind/Oblivion gameplay to it... Why not make it more like a JRPG since most people play Mass Effect for the story and the JRPG mechanics would help boost sales. I mean they could even add a secret monster hunter world kinda like Peace Walker did for missions.
I mean it doesn't fit the Mass Effect universe but it could be like the Secret Cow level. If they do not add JRPG elements they should atleast do that because how fun would it be killing giant dinosaurs in a shooter... just ask Turok.
I mean you all are saying I am biased and hate the 360 despite the fact I really do not like JRPGs too much and I am speaking objectively. I think you guys are misinterpretting what I am saying.
Unless you want ME3 to be a stinker that´s not really a good idea.;)

Most people play Mass Effect for the story anyways and the JRPG combat could make the game longer

Killing giant dinosaurs in ME3? It's already there in the form of thresher maws! And why the hell should they add JRPG elements? It would cripple the game instead of making it better.

People played ME2 because the gameplay was awesome, not just because of the story.[QUOTE="Arach666"]

So you'd much rather have a slow paced, boring grindfest that a clean shooter/RPG hybrid that is well paced and still managed around 30+ hours of gameplay?[QUOTE="Banjo_Kongfooie"]

...There is no hope for you then.
FF13 is a great example of modern JRPG gameplay that works....but I'd rather ME keep its s t y l e. And wouldn't it be hypocritical for BioWare to do that, when they spent a month attacking JRPGs?

I didn't realize the 360 needed saving.

Its way behind the Wii and the Ps3 is catching up >_> in sales but it still has amazing games coming
The Japanese don't tend to buy electronics from non-Japanese corporations. If Sony was American you can bet that the Playstation brand would never have sold as much as it has there.Forget Japan. Mass Effect 2 is miles ahead of anything coming out of Japan right now. You want to significantly decrease the quality of the game to sell a few units in a culture which might not even take to it?
Every single popular/high rated game in gaming history is overrated.[QUOTE="IronBass"][QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]Mass Effect 2 is an Overrated Shooter disguised as an RPG.AdobeArtist
More like how some people disguise their ignorance (in this case not knowing an RPG right in front of them) as a forum comment ;)
I know what an RPG is and from what I played from the Demo that it's a pretty good 3rd Person Shooter.
I find the so called RPG elements in the game pretty lame.

And how much of a game is contained in a demo?
Wow, I'm so happy that you're not involved with the Mass Effect 3 project. That idea sounds terrible, almost as bad as Mortal Kombat vs DC.
And how much of a game is contained in a demo?

Quite a lot actually. you get the Intro, Shepard's Awakening and I believe the first Mission.
Besides isn't a Demo supposed to give you a taste in the game to help decide whether or not to get it?
I played the Demo and Liked it but I think it's more of a 3rd Person Shooter than a RPG.

That's barely anything though. There's much more to ME2 than just that, it's not just shooting.
