Oh sorry, it's Modern Warfare, not Halo.
Whats your point? He never said the game was a straight up mindless shooter. Its still an RPG, but the combat portion of the game is on the same level as the best shooters. Thats HIS point. What I got out of what he was saying is:
"Our game has little rules and regulations, we want to simplify things for gamers with short attention spans and enjoy games with tons of flash and no substance"
But I'm not saying Mass Effect 2 is simplified or anything, I would have to play the game to decide that.
It is simplified from its predecessor. But alot of the things they eliminated were clutter, and slowed the games pacing. Theres still plenty of RPG elements (exploration, non linear story, side missions, player character development in the form of skills, weapon upgrades, armor upgrades, paragon/renegade, NPC character development through story, as well as the overall story itself). No ones claiming this is the deepest RPG ever. But more loot and more abilities doesnt make a game more of an RPG.- bring grenades back
- helmet toggle
- I don't mind scanning planets, just have upgrades that makes it faster or even have a radar to follow like when there's an anomaly but for elements
- have a store where you can buy and sell elements
- romancing outside the normandy
- have squad mates revive you if they have the ability
- when you hack mechs, you take control of them and see from their perspective
- have a lounge in the normandy
- increase Shepards dancing skills
- able to romance strippers if you tip them good enough

non linear story, paragon/renegade, NPC character development .I do not find those "RPG elements", and I understand it has the other mechanics that you pointed out but they seem way too limited.

1 = Get rid of scanning, EXTREMELY tedious!!!... this thing made me agree with gamespot to give it a 9.0 instead of 9.5
2= Make the resources you gather USEFUL for something! Upgrades etc, were too cheap considering the amount of minerals you could gather (I had about 150k eezo and 500k of the other minerals, thinking they would be of use for something before i finished the game.
3 = Fix bugs and clean the game up before release.
4 = Make it longer than ME1 & ME2 :D
5 = More side missions.. ATLEAST one in each star system like in ME1
6 = Make it possible to have a Volus and an original Prothean on your team(awoken from cryo stasis or something)... hanar and Elcor in your crew on the Normandy.
7 = Add Unique findable objects, on side missions (guns, armor bits etc)
8 = More interesting missions where you have to use dialouge in a smart way (not just paragon or renegade path)... *spoliers, like on the mission with samaras daughter, you had to gather clues and listen to samaras adviceto say the right things... or mission fail.
9 = Don't let the game hold your hand, make the player him/herself figure out how to apporach an objective.
10 = Finnish the story, improve graphics, sound, more romance options etc
Fix all that and it will be 10/10

1. they just need to make it faster. It tedious because It's slow. 2. They have that already, they just need to put in more stuff to make with it. 3.Agreed 4.Super Agreed 5.Ulta Agreed 6.Impossible for a Promethean but the others can be part of the ships crew not ground team. 7.They have this already. 8.Or like Norviera before the hot labs. 9.They never did this. 10.The most gigantic agree posible.(Though I'm not giving up tali.)I wouldn't expect that to change, there's some obvious limitations to that, due to how the game is structured. Just think about all the different variations, and possibilities that Mass Effect provides. Accounting for all of that would take too much time, money, and effort.Throw in some cuddly teddy bear type aliens.
Seriously though, there needs to be more interaction between squad members. There wasn't enough in ME2.
AAllxxjjnn
1. Include the entire returning to at least play a role in the fight against the Reavers (you can't tell me Wrex would be too busy to battle Reaver scum).
2. Provide dialog between the two characters in the player's current squad. This was done in Dragon Age, and made walking around the towns more lively, especially when Morrigan were going back and forth!
3. Provide a better antagonist. Sorry, but the Collectors did not cut it. Saren served a much better role, even if he was only a coverup for something greater. And it's kind of a bummer that the Geth are not as much of a threat as they used to be.
4. I'm also assuming that the actions of Shephard will result who will side with him in the finale. Cerebrus or the Alliance?
5. Provide better mini-games, or don't provide them at all. C'mon, Pazaak in KOTOR was a nice thing to burn time on, and it wasn't that incredibly complex.

Scanning was quite fast in the PC version when you upgraded the Normandy for scanning. After that I actually enjoyed it, which was a bit strange. Broke up the pace a little I guess, I liked reading the planet descriptions mostly, some of them have interesting little stories, and some of the planets and stars looked awesome. I never had to go over the same planet twice to get materials. Grenades would be nice though, even if heavy weapons are significantly better, not the original grenade design though. Crouch would have been somewhat useful I guess, never really thought about it until now. To be honest though I don't care if they just rehash ME2, I would be quite happy with that. The game could do with a few more skills though, and some tougher choices that carry heavier consequences.

The Feros and Noveria Mako sections were actually pretty awesome when you figured out the controls, and the first time going up an 80 degree slope is hilarious. It was just overused. They seem to be replacing it with something in future DLC though. Shame it didn't come with the original release. Oh well more to look forward too I guess.
Planet exploration is very impotant. The scanning doesn't cut it. Make it a lot more interactive. It's hard to implement, but it would add so much to the exploration. Other than that, no other complaints. Love the first and second game.
Fix biotics- The Adept class is useless at the higher difficulties due to the way the bread-and-butter biotic powers (ie lift/throw/singularity) are ineffective against armor/shields/barriers. Change it so that enemies have less protection but more health.
Fix planet scanning- Instead of a bunch of smaller deposits put 5 or so *huge* deposits on a planet, and turn scanning into more of a mini-game/puzzle. It'll still be tedious, but at least it won't take 5 minutes to clean-out a planet.
More squad interaction- Both with Shepard and with eachother. The squadmates are the best part of the game, don't limit them to a handful of conversations on the Normandy and the rare comment during a mission. In other words, steal the "party" chapter from the Dragon Age Origins playbook.
Less action- While the revamped combat system is a huge step-up from ME1, by the end of the game the constant combat becomes grating. Mix it up with some non-combat missions.
Better defined Paragon/Renegade personalities- The whole point behind the ME morality system was to get away from the trite good vs. evil of KOTOR and instead say "you're the good guy and you're going to save the galaxy: the moral dilemma is how you accomplish your goals". ME2 had that to a degree, but there are far too many good-for-the-sake-of-good/evil-for-the-sake-of-evil moments (or even worse, neutral actions that resulted in paragon/renegade points).

This I can agree with, I am playing on insanity now and I rarely use any biotic powers unless it is against a Krogan. Once the shields are down for majority of the enemies it is barely worth it to use your biotic powers. I agree that a barrier should stop biotic powers but how does armor prevent me from using pull?
