I guess this is the mind-blowing announcement that was supposed to be made last week and got pushed to next month. I'm excited to see what it is, but I'm really hoping its co-operative or at the least competitive scoring based.

It's indeed weird how they put it as a bonus go collector edition, but theses kind of leaks are generally very precise. So I say there is a good chance ME3 will have a multiplayer, which is a good thing.

Really? I think any arena-style multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 would be horrible.

Arena style? Psh. I'm thinking co-op.I can see it. The shooting and powers would make for some fun class based or hectic Halo like gameplay, and if anything co-op is never bad. Having your Shephard and the Shephards of your buddies fighting against waves of Geth, or something like that, one player sniping while another sets up turrets and a third slams and shotguns the ones that get close.
I can dig it.

Arena style? Psh. I'm thinking co-op. Yeah same here. Co-op would be superb if done right. As much of a Mass Effect fan I am. I'm disappointed to hear that ME3 will have some sort of multiplayer. The gameplay mechanics will feel weird if it's competitive. I knew the GameInformer info was too good to be true since some of the features and statements seem bogus at this point.
Well if it's co-op it might be fun for a while. I'd rather have all resources aimed for the single player.
I think they should have released a sort of multiplayer with a new Mass Effect series after the Shepard story arch is complete. With all the large worlds, races, biotic n tech powers and character customizability the game has,its got potential to be a huge multiplayer game but i dont feel it should be done with this particular third installment. On the other hand tho,who knows if they have the large staff to pull it off

800 people work at BioWare...I think they have more than enough staff.

If they do have enough to make it happen, they should squeeze every last bit of stuff from the Mass Effect universe and integrate it to make a robust and deep multiplayer. Prob with a level 100 cap and assaulted weapons, biotic n tech powers, character skins and diff alien races and diff kinda armour, barrier etc. Mass Effects world is so deep that making a multiplayer feels like some MMO

The only way I would accept Co-op is if you could have an AI partner in place of the regular partner.
I just want Mass Effect to remain a single-player title.

Yeah, but if there's co-op only levels I want it to be playable both singleplayer and multiplayer.
these kind of leaks are generally very precise ? And how is this a good thing ? It's quite probable that the game got delayed just so they could put some half assed multiplayer mode into it.It's indeed weird how they put it as a bonus go collector edition, but theses kind of leaks are generally very precise. Nice, can't wait for some team deathmatch, and capture the flag. Wonder if we'll get dlc maps too!
:P I probably won't even touch the online if it happens, unless you can play a survival mode offline.

I actually think multiplayer for mass effect would work great. I don't really want it. Especially if it's why the game got delayed. But I think the mass effect powers and so on would work well in multiplayer. No need to be so narrow-minded. Why does multiplayer have to be a naughty thing? I love multiplayer in most games. IF it is multiplayer, let's see how it works. I don't know why they cannot implement multiplayer in a way that is representative of the quality of work Bioware is known for in it's single player experience.

Implying either ME1 or ME2 were remotely hard on insane :P
I'd welcome co-op. It'll make the inevitable boredom of ME "Whack-a-mole" style gameplay at least somewhat more entertaining. Hopefully Bioware doesn't think that adding shields/armor to all enemies constitutes difficulty though.
If I could "like" this post I would. I completely agree. No need to be so narrow-minded. Why does multiplayer have to be a naughty thing? I love multiplayer in most games. While I actually do believe their will be some multiplayer component introduced, the idea of an Online Pass is hardly confirmation. LA Noire had an Online Pass to. They are used for DLC package deals as much as they are for online accessibility. It is amazing how people forget about the Cerberus Network in Mass Effect 2.lawl

In this case that's irrelevant because the flyer explicitly stated "Online Multiplayer Pass" for Mass Effect 3.
A horde style co-op could actually be a smart addition. I just hope they don't try to pull off a versus mode. That would be horrible.
 yeah i'm deffinietly not buying this game. On top of it not being an RPG, now they tack on MP AND Online passes (if the rumor is true) ? The_Pacific
Soon Mass Effect will be just another generic, linear sci-fi TPS.
Watch as they remove choices in Mass Effect 4 because "the player doesn't need it."
:| Will definitely be sure to cancel my preorder next time I'm at GameStop. Way to ruin Mass Effect, EA. This series is officially dead to me now.

ME2 was pushing it on the TPS aspect. Now it seems mass effect 3 will just be a TPS with even lighter RPG gameplay. Plus if this rumor is true and they are adding MP I'm not wasting my time on it or their greedy, cash-in online passes. ME3 is the bi-product of EA's shady underhanded buisness practices and Bioware losing sight of the people that brought them to where they are (core, hardcore gamers). It's truly sad.
