Bioshock 2 also had tacked-on multiplayer that detracted from the single-player elements.

The second game wasn't nearly as cohesive as the first...all because of unnecessary multiplayer siphoning away development focus.

ME is a single-player franchise. To switch now just doesn't make any sense.

now the only thing left to do is strip out any remaining RPG elements and call it a dayFirebird-5

I'm totally serious. ME2 was pushing it on the TPS aspect. Now it seems mass effect 3 will just be a TPS with even lighter RPG gameplay. Plus if this rumor is true and they are adding MP I'm not wasting my time on it or their greedy, cash-in online passes. ME3 is the bi-product of EA's shady underhanded buisness practices and Bioware losing sight of the people that brought them to where they are (core, hardcore gamers). It's truly sad.The_Pacific

ME3 still won't be as much of a RPG as the original game was, but it will still have more RPG elements than ME2 had.

Not like I'm gonna miss anything anyway. Plenty of other great games to keep me occupied in the coming months.

I'm not going to play the MP, I don't support devs that put online passes in their games so thats another reason I wont be getting this (I thought I said that) And the RPG elements are piss poor at best. If I can beat ME2 with one weapon and not even bother customizing the character or ship than that tells me it aint a RPG. ME3 will follow in its path. Sorry my displeasure with ME3 offends you but its just my opinion.The_Pacific

It's indeed weird how they put it as a bonus go collector edition, but theses kind of leaks are generally very precise. So I say there is a good chance ME3 will have a multiplayer, which is a good thing.

As much of a Mass Effect fan I am. I'm disappointed to hear that ME3 will have some sort of multiplayer. The gameplay mechanics will feel weird if it's competitive. I knew the GameInformer info was too good to be true since some of the features and statements seem bogus at this point.

Well if it's co-op it might be fun for a while. I'd rather have all resources aimed for the single player.

I sincerely hope that the SP is in no way affected by the addition of MP. It drives me up the wall why developers feel the need to add on a MP component to games that don't need it. The Mass Effect games are a SP experience, gamers buy it for the SP experience. If you want to play MP, go and buy COD. You have to wonder if EA pushed Bioware into it... I can't imagine Bioware doing this.

Truly, why don't more devs get this I don't know. Unless you're one of the big name franchises like COD, Battlefield, Halo, etc., you may as well not even waste resources developing multiplayer.

Kinect I can understand because I am sure Microsoft gave them some kind of benefit for adding that in

But this is definitively not the "RPG" I was expecting. This is more than ME2 yes but thats not a good thing. I bet I can power through this game, with one weapon and no customization just like I did on ME2. I wont be missing much not buying this TPS. I'm pretty sure it's common knowledge at this point that EA believes only games with multiplayer components can be successful and are going to try to do everything in their power to make their games multiplayer. I find it odd you thought a publisher was more rational than a developer.

If they put deathmatch multiplayer Mass Effect is ruined but they could make it work with co-op multiplayer even though i am still not sure.

Online multiplayer is the most useless thing ever to plague gaming.

It's only usable for at the very most 10 years.

What good is that? It's just a waste of everybody's time to develop gameplay components that last only 5-10 years at most.

Co-op campaign sounds like a terrible idea. People like to complain that multiplayer can possibly destroy a good single player experience. That really makes no sense sense, they are two completely different features that don't connect well at all. Co-op and single player go better together, but its obvious that that would have to sacrifice a lot of things to get the co-op to work in a single player based storyline.

im still hoping for a gear of war like horde. im pretty sure that work
