While I agree Kojima knows more about developing games for the PS3 (and I suppose the 360) than I do, I don't think you can take anything he says at face value, considering the fact that his company is so buddy-buddy with Sony. Where exactly does he state MGS 4 is impossible on the 360? All he does is talk up the PS3 hardware/blu-ray, and make vague and weird sounding comments about how the PS3 is like a movie theater. And for the record, I didn't call him a liar, I just implied he was biased.

It depends who you ask. Mario is a far more iconic game character i think, but look how long he's been around for.

But then I remember a while ago reading on internet movie database how Kojima was something like number 15 on the world's most influential artists. I couldnt say confidently who was more reknown. 

It's a real shame that a lot of developers out there aren't getting the chance to make more intelligent software because the masses are so used to rudimentary games like mario. It baffles me how people can seriously play through those games.

Jump run jump, lift turtle shell, kick turtle shell...and repeat again and again and again, make the graphics a tad better and market it as new without giving mario any really intelligent motive.

This thread is a joke and I could go on and on about it but plain and simple if the mass effect developer said that he would be contradicting about everyone else out there or showing his complete ignorance. The Xbox360 is a good system but it's not everything it could have been that is why they came out with the elite because they are now playing catch up. The Xbox360 is not better for games it's CPU is not better in any way and the GPU's are very close in power. Since we have not seen any current specs in the past year on the the RSX can do.

But I will say this about the RSX if it is so under powered why is the PS3 able to match the Xbox360's 2nd and 3rd gen games with it's 1st gen?

the only system that now has to worry about power and speed is the Xbox360 because Nintendo didn't try

MS has the better software as far as the 360, but the hardware is horrible............example this weekend left my 360 and Ps3 on from friday to sunday...........let me just say the 360 didn't quite make it without overheating, my ps3 was still running smooth and quiet.

I liked Half-Life2 a lot. I played it only on the 360 it was the xbox version ofcourse. I don't have a computer that can run that damn game and not into improving my comp for games and getting a controller for it. PC I only play like emulators of old stuff that's about it

But HL2 was great. Ofcourse the graphics were not as good but still looked good IMO which is a testiment to Valve and how good the game is. I suggest anyone like me who couldn't play HL2 on PC play it on ur 360 or xbox for cheap now. Amazing game. I just wish there was more interaction with team mates more so even, like how in Killzone you are with them throughout the game.

Would it help to know that Kojima does want to work on the 360, Wii and PC? Nothing to do with MGS. He wants to do new IP's for other systems once he's done with MGS4. Why kill time working on a port when you can focus on one system and make it to perfection? Kojima has never let his fans down. Ever. It's the same with Itagaki. The both are in my eyes, the best developers out there in the Eastern market. And if you don't understand Japanese culture and how they put things into their own words, then you really don't understand the concept of how they do things in the business world. Remember Crazy Ken's statement with the 4D and crap? It's the same thing. Japanese folks rock. I have high respects for them in the gaming industry. It barely fits on one DVD9 - Microsoft has the better compression techniques AND a faster drive for streaming said compressed data.  If we were to expand that data enough and spam it all over the Bluray disk in order to achieve reasonable load times then it simply wouldn't fit! *Gasp*.  We could try to get around this by loading all of the data onto the PS3's HDD but that would only screw over the 20gig owners.  Mass Effect + Oblivion + OS = Full drive.  Ouch. Uh...What?  It worked for Oblivion just fine but it's impossible for Mass Effect?  And I will remind you that if MS wants to move into the HD era of gaming then they can't rely on compression which actually means inferior quality. 

The 360's GPU is completely superior to the PS3's without mentioning that the 360 CPU is far better for gaming.  Also, they want to add DL content for ME and we all know the PS3 can't even handle horse armour.
