Skits are done for characters and people if they are high-profile, not if they can be atributed with any positive adjetives like "awesome", "cool", or even "acceptable" :P

I suppose George W. Bush is an awesome badass, considering he is portrayedon SNL and MadTV skits all the time.

The fact that Halo is a game that is enjoyed by millions of people is evidence enough to anyone that the reason and intent for them creating a skit for Mastercheif is because he's an iconic, positive figure. To say otherwise is to deny Mastercheif's role in all 3 Halo games.

It's all about perception as is them portraying DUBYA in their skits. The perception of MC stems from how successful Halo games are and how well they are liked by others. By admitting that they only do skits for "high profile" nouns, you admit that Snake is'nt on the level of Mastercheif when it comes to status.

Remember that you brought up Snake, not me. Bringing Snake into the discussion is pointless. I acknowledge MC has a higher profile than Snake, but a high-profile doesn'tinherently mean he's a better character.

Look at FF in Japan, WoW in China, Starcraft in South Korea, Pro Evo in the UK ect.. The US does not = the rest of the world.

Gordon Freeman sucks as a heroin..simply because his status makes no sense to me. Somehow this geeky scientist can forefront a war and kickarse with all sorts of fancy guns? At least Mastercheif makes sense as a character.. and we know why the enemies refer to him as "demon." It doesn't get anymore BOSS than that.

Gordon is not supposed to be a normal character like MC. Valve certainly did somthing unique.

Duke Nukem is a rip off character.

His character stole material from people like Ash Williams, Snake Plissken, Dirty Harry and John Nada.

Funny you should mention someones intelligence yet you have no clue who your talking to, and the same can be said about SolidSnake and Mario..did that ever occur to you? Your seriously talking about about lack of story and character with Crysis in your sig? If theres any game this year that lacks both, its Crysis by a wide margin. I could be deaf and blind and get the absolute same experience with Crysis as if I had eagel vision and dog ears.

Maybe if you played Half Life 1..... Gordon Freeman is supposed to be the player. The player themsevers as Gordon navigated their way out of Black Mesa, and adapted + survived. The player always has control over their own actions throught the game, and never sees outside the first person perspective.

If that was Valves intent with Gordon Freeman than if anything, I can see Mastercheif relating to that in every way. Which is why they didn't remove MCs helmit. I think the idea that Bungie is going for is for you to put whatever face you feel belongs behind the helmit. I think it has more to do with imagination than lack of depth.
