Max Payne 3 - Fresh New Screenshots.

For your information people.. This doesn't look to be taking place in Africa what so ever.. It clearly looks to be taking place in South America or Central America.. Which can be a good thing sense there are some dark things that happen in those regions of the world.sSubZerOo

I am hyped but it's a different developer, different voice acter, Max is fat/bald, there's a cover system, and no New York. That many changes are unnecessary, next we'll find out it'll be an open world setting with an AI buddy or something.Floppy_Jim

This looks terrible. With this new setting the dark moody melodramatic metaphor infested monologues are gone (or if they still exist they will feel very out of place) also the entire film noir feel of the game seems to have been thrown out the window with the new brighter colors. And wtf is he doing in Brazil? This looks more like Uncharted Rated M edition than Max Payne. This looks like it could be the RE5 of Max Payne, throwing everything we love about it out the window to appeal to a larger audience. RE5 effectively killed any musings of horror from the franchise, and this game seems ready to kill any off any inklings of the film noir theme so prevalent and important in the previous games :(II_Seraphim_II

I thought of uncharted aswell when I saw the screenshots.

Whilst I actually like the grittyness of his new look, looking like he has let himself go, maybe a heavy drinker doesn't really care and hence nothing to lose, I think the change in setting is a huge mistake. Like you said, the film-noir direction really worked with the unfolding gun fights and bullet time.

Max went from a kind of Preppy clean cut cop, to a bald, beard, fat old cop.

Max has new developers, and the old MAX was based on one of the Remedy guys, the new team, based it on the new fat guy in the corner.

i dont get all the hate for this game. most of it seems to be because Max is older and because some of it takes place during the daytime. honestly if Max had looked like he did in the first 2 games i would have no interest at all. basically because he looked like a straight up dork. a skinny assed lightweight. this Max looks like hed break you in two if you looked at him wrong. and i have no problem with a change of location. you know it gets dark in other cities besides New York right? and there are slums and ghettoes everywhere so im sure we,ll get some gritty city action. and yes the Noir genre is not limited to dark city environments. like the guy said earlier Brick is a Noir film and it takes place in a high school. its more about the feel and tone of the story not the location

I love the first two max paynes, but I'm really disliking his new look!!!
