I swear I saw someone who looks just like that asleep on the pavement the other day. Replace the 2 guns with 2 bottles of cider and honestly it was a spitting image.
Mind you, trying to eat a very messy kebab after a big night out, I'm sure I've looked a bit like that as well.
I posted those scans earlier today over on the Alan Wake site (which has a Max Payne board), and another site, and I can say you are the first person I've seen that thinks it looks good.Man am i the only one that thinks that looks bad ass? I say right on!
Sully28
I thought that was sam fisher

I think he obviously needs to look older, and obviously haggard after what he's been through in 1 and 2, however that character design is a little OTT.

Thanks for those. I'm totally disappointed by what i saw though. Pretty much everyone is. :( I was so excited too when I got the mail today . I saw MP3 on the cover and even though the cover was "meh" I was excited. Then I read it. I went from "huh?" to "eh?" to "eww" to "OH....MY....GOD!" Oh, and sorry for the quality of the pics. Woulda had better ones over at the AW site, but my scanner isn't working. :( Everyone's been asking me all day for better shots.Becaue it takes place a decade later, and they don't want to be reminded about the movie. They could've atleast make Max look like John McClain from Die Hard 4 (older but still awesome looking)...[QUOTE="CrazyyyDylan"]My only question is Why? Why did they change his signature look.Avian005

Nothing about that reminded me of Max Payne, absolutely nothing. The designaestheticis extremely bland as well...i don't get the direction they are taking this in...
I mean, 10 years (somewhere around there) has reduced Max Payne to this?![QUOTE="-Traveller-"]

Yup, it's a little overboard. Though realistically it could obviously happen. Pretty sure nobody wants to play a kick*** character looking like that though :P

I wouldn't want to play as a character who looks like a local 50 year old drunk (Max Payne).Seriously. Nothing about that reminded me of Max Payne, absolutely nothing. The designaestheticis extremely bland as well...i don't get the direction they are taking this in...AAllxxjjnn
I don't know, but it's not good. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to it too much before these screens because I knew Remedy sold the IP long ago. After seeing this today, it's even further from my radar now. I know the games aren't really similar, but the fact that MP3 is looking this poor so far, the wait for Alan Wake seems even longer now. At least we might have had some sort of Remedy spirit going in MP3, but R* just threw everything they created out the window.

I wouldn't want to play as a character who looks like a local 50 year old drunk (Max Payne).True, true. It's definately less exciting playing as the hobo, hopefully they will tidy him up a *little* bit. Just don't change hime to be too clean-cut.
I don't respect this Max Payne nor do I fear him. I...pity him. I pity Max Payne now...
gmc2u_64
I always had pity for his character. Some messed up **** has happened.

I know. But he was pretty cool. Now...I pity him because he looks like a 50 year old drunk. Why are people bashing the look? I like how he looks now. And as long as the gameplay and story is great he can use a cane and Ill still play the game.
Here are some more details: The story is he moved out of NYC to get away from his demons and that he is now private security for a wealthy family and is drawn in to the underworld of Sao Paulo. Oh, and James McCaffery will not return as Max Payne. Rockstar says they can keep the noir even in the slums of Sao Paulo.bstarter29That family must've been desperate to hire a 50 year old bald drunk (that's what Max is now) as personal security.
If he looks like that, I won't but the game.paul939You serious? What does the look of the character have to do with the quality of the game?? Wow it aint like you gona take him out on a real life date. If the game is great who cares how he looks???
The original Max Payne was great yet 2 was kind of a disappointment to me so I don't care all that much about this sequel either way, looks like another franchise that's slowly getting stale, let's hope I'm wrong and give this the benefit of the doubt.

Well it isn't made by remedy this time so I'm a little worried.[QUOTE="paul939"]If he looks like that, I won't but the game.coltsfan4ever
MAX FREAKIN' PAYNE looks like a 50 year old bald drunk...that's not good at all.Again what does the new look of the character have to do with the gameplay??? If the game delivers why would him looking old really matter?[QUOTE="coltsfan4ever"]

And no James McCaffery? This isn't even Max Payne anymore.
as long as max is still doing the 3rd person bad *** narrative thing, I think it should be fine
