I don't consider myself a tough guy by any stretch of the imagination, but I could see myself getting into a scuffle with someone who looked like the young Max Payne in real life.

With this old bald guy, no way. If I encountered someone who looked like this in real life, I would be headed in the opposite direction.

Old, bald, and fat or not, the guy on the cover of this magazine looks like a bonafide bad ass.

Looks great, you guys with your typical hero grunge looking character with abs and pipes should get a grip on real life sometimes. I'd like to see what you would look like if you're family got murdered and your lifewent to hell.

I love the grittiness. Its more believable IMO. Why is everyone saying that he's fat? He don't look fat to me. He actually looks realistically muscular. Of course, he doesn't look like he has a 6pack, but how many grown men do anyway (especially at 40).lhughey

reminds me of the new die hard .... everything (movies to games) seems to be moving to older verisons of our favorite characters ... not liking it so much ... unless they offer a new person to replace the old i guess (MGS Rising for ex)

i hope i'm wrong, but this seems to have changed too much from the old games Payne just looks like a generic waste and the bright, sunny setting of Rio? where's the noir style and the darkness / rain / snow?akif22

I don't mind the older character, but it's the setting change and gameplay screens that bother me.

wothout the Newyork dark toned atmosphere the game loses it's magic, but making payne look older and bald is just too much
