These NPD threads aren't as fun as they used to be. Times like this, I wish Tigersuperman didn't get terminated cause he makes these types of threads worth staying for.

But anyways, congrats to PS4 and this is the reason I went PC/PS4/3DS this gen and that's saying something.

Interesting. So I guess it's reasonable for people to downplay Halo 5 selling 5 million copies. But you didn't seem to think so with this comment:

No one is saying it got "slain" just highlighting how impressively these games sold, and despite that, a game on a single system managed to outsell them both.

Firstly this is about overstating accomplishments. If someone stated that Halo 5 sold more than Uncharted 4 as an accomplishment or that it dominated the competition, I would have commented in the same manner but they didn't.

Secondly

With 40 million consoles sold, one would think a lot more people would have purchased UC4. IMO its just doing OK, not great!

However, Uncharted 4 outselling those two games is not an overstatement. It's a serious accomplishment, much like how Halo 5 was when it did something similar after it released.

Overwatch had 7 million confirmed recorded players after 8 days of launch. The OPs list isn't including Blizzard's biggest source of sales, Digital PC.

It isn't even close or fair for UC4, OW wins with a landslide victory. It's first week is likely more than UC4's full total. This thread is extremely misleading.

It deserves it, it is an amazing game.

Congrats to ND and the Uncharted 4 success. But everyone knew it was coming. Also I think we should be at a time where, like VGChartz, we say lol NPD. Only because it doesn't count digital titles. And that's the only way a lot of people purchase games. Myself included.

The more and more DD becomes relevant, the less and less NPD becomes. Why does anyone even bother with these numbers anymore?

Halo 5 was assessed at likely having near a 50% digital adoption rate, Quantum Break put out $150 worth of total digital incentives, it's going more and more this direction...

NPD while a great way to gauge something physically only, is starting to become just half of the picture, in some instances maybe even less.

No, Remedy is developing two new games apparently, one is unknown in terms of partnership, the other is a different partner that is not Microsoft.

Working with other companies =/= ending a partnership.

Also, if the partnership were ended I don't think it would be Remedy's doing.
