Metacritic 2014: XboxOne beats WiiU and PS4 in ConExclusives

The results are in for the Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft console exclusives for 2014! (Which you can buy in stores now or wait for BF) Metacritic results are in!

****NOTE: Even if Captain Toad(last console exclusive of the year) Scored a 90 (unlikely) Wii U would not be above Xbox One's score

2014 has been an interesting year for games, especially games that make you want to buy a console.

In first place Xbox one takes it with huge hits such as Titanfall (best selling box One game.. For now), Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset overdrive, and oddly, good selling Fantasia Music Evolved. Along with Retail release for Killer Instinct, creative game Project Spark, and Kinect Sports third entry.

In second place Nintendo comes in Smashing with Super Smash Bros, Donkey Kong, mario Kart, and critically acclaimed Bayonetta 2. Hyrule Warriros manages to stay right at the green line. The Wii series games both get retail releases this year as well. Along with the red flag of the line-up, Sonic Boom.

In last Sony, who started out with TLOU which is the highest on any list! Along with other hits, FFXIV console exclusive, MLB14, Infamous Second Son, Samurai Warriors, and LBP. Drive Club and Natural Doctrine struggle a little but still keep in mixed. Oddly, popular Sony franchise SingStar got hit with the same score as Sonic Boom, a 39, which really hurt the line-up. PS4 line up however, has one more game than both the others.

XBOX ONE IS THE BEST CONSOLE TO PLAY IN 2014! With the highest quality exclusives (on metacritic) that you can only play on XBOX ONE, along with the current $350 bundled deals till january (with even more deals near and on black friday) this is the perfect time to be an XBOX ONE gamer.

LOOKING FOR A SECONDARY CONSOLE? Wii U comes in second place with great hits like Super Smash bros and Mario Kart among others. Black Friday deals are hard to find, but getting a stand alone Wii u with one games is not too expensive!

All games are retail, all games are exclusive to one console over the other 2 consoles, all are 2014 retail releases (including retail releases of Wii U and Xbox One game(s) that just got retail releases this year) and all were averaged. No way to spin it. All 3 consoles lists were treated equally and included every console exclusive. All of them, including FFXIV and the like. As mentioned, only game left this year is Captain Toad, who regardless will not be able to change the results,)

The Xbox one doesn't have games under 60 in 2014 that are exclusive/console exclusive. Also they still would have lost even without Singstar.

so why are u counting titanfall/horizon 2 on xbox list? they are console exclusive to x1 and neither is tlou. horrible thread all round

Yeah, I played my One about 2 times as much as my PS4 in the first year. I buy most multiplats on PC, so I haven't used my PS4 for gaming in a while. It's a fine machine, and I think things will turn around software-wise, but Microsoft did a good job with software for their new machine - at least in the first year.

Smash reviews are barely out, take some time man.

This doesn't matter at all. most likely the score will go down, and even if it stayed or went slightly up it would still not matter.

Yes they are console exclusives. Just like FFXIV is console exclusive to PS4 and Smash to Wii U, and Titanfall to Xbox One.

Both Nintendo and Sony have games rated higher than the best on MS dude....if you want to play that game. Nonetheless using SW logic....Sony has more games to play than MS. Using SW logic....

No it's not, already did the calculations, nothing would change, even if Captain Toad did 90 or a bit more. it would be reaaalll close, however, the results won't change. So if the results won't change (plus wii U smash has 15 reviews) then the thread is still accurate. Smash isn;t the only game on that list still getting reviews.

Yep, Console exclusives. Because TLOU is not on Xbox or Wii, the Titanfall is not on PS4 or Wii, and Horizon 2 is technically 2 different games but even so, it's not on Wii or PS4.

You have no argument here. The review consensus across the games media has the Xbox one higher, and Nintendo in second place and Sony in last. there is no spin. Sony only has one more game than the other 2, and even if I removed SS it would still lose to Xbox One. (Of course removing SS doesn't make anysense)

Wrong. Not looking at aggregate scoring of all games I'm looking at total number with review score in green. MS is not in first. That means more games rated higher. Using one very low score to skew the average does not mean there is a higher number of games scored in green. Sorry. Go past Go but do not collect $100.

The PS4 has 188 games out the xbox one 124... That is 64 more games on PS4 than on xbxo one even that both released the same month..

Another thing wrong with using this average score is that MS has less games. The more games one has the lower the average tends to be. So both Nintendo and Sony have one more game and it's in red. Remove that game and Nintendo wins.

Yes there is, many sites use the term. These are games I don't get to play on PS4 and Wii U. Xbox one beat the Wii U and PS4 in 2014 for console exclusives, there is no way you can possibly spin this.

Only one game has not been released this year, and that's Captain toad (Assuming it's retail) and unless it does 98-100 or something it's not giving the Wii u the win.

I think exclusive should ONLY be just that...one console/system. If it's on more than one it's not exclusive. Period.

KI got re-released in 2014, as did Wii fit U and Wii Sports club. (I have no idea why you are even arguing this since the XO would have even a higher score if i removed it.)

Also I am glad that you can count the number of games. That's great, to bad that has nothing to do with anything. Also i only use retail because that's kind of what most people use in these kind of threads so ehhh, ok......

Two-You only proved there is no difference between all of them. I tried a good amount of stat tests too (extremely bored in lab & stuck extracting plasmids). If you are going to compare the data sets, then its time to do it right.

Edit: I didn't even notice you included games from 2013 on the xboxone side and the missing games.

What 2013 retail games are on the Xbox side? Also i did do it right, all the games are exclusives/console exclusives, there is no spin on this.
