I'm with Snapz & Organic. How is Raiden any different than anyone else in the 'verse'? Is he not, for all intents and purposes, a cyborg? Why should we not expect him to do this stuff? He's not limited by 'human' weaknesses.

Also, it's Metal Gear Rising. Not Solid. Kojima wanted some of his peeps to take the lead on Revengeance originally. The reason it looks the way it does is because they just couldn't get the 'whole cutting thing.' Kojima San called for backup. Plat. stepped up and is making what looks like a solid LightningBoltAction game in the Metal Gear universe.
Not a true MGS game, platinum are a disgracing the MGS name with this garbage, this is just like that DMC reboot.

Watch the E3 2010 video and you will see that Kojima Productions was going in that direction with Metal Gear Rising before Platinum Games took over with Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

It was also going to have quite a large emphasis on stealth and plus let's be real here, platinum can't do anything outside of gameplay. Everything else is going to be sh!t but the gameplay.

but this one looks way more generic and cheap. IDK what was the point of PlatGames asking Kojima to make the game if they were going to make it like this, they could have done a new IP instead. Metal Gear nor Raiden are so mindless as to make a pure hack and slash out of it and with crappy story. I mean, Raiden doesn't even likes to kill and here he goes all out on every enemy and killing/dismembering everything in sight.
I bet it wasnt just Platnium's idea to make this. Kojima admitted they couldnt get this game up on it's feet. It was there idea first. I remember when MGS4 hit and people gushing over Raiden and wishing they could play as him. Did they want to play as him doing what Snake does? Because that was done in MGS2, and the one consistent complaint about it was playing as Raiden. And he does very little stealth in 4. He does slash and kill in it. His strenghts arent Snakes. Game is more than welcome to me.

Anybody can complain about anything they want, it's freedom of speech. I, like many, dont see the weight of these complaints. There was no subtlety to the sci fi-ness of the original MGS, imo. A soldier, of any caliber, could not defeat multiple mechs. A cyborg? Well I dont know, as I've never seen one actually fight. Seems people need to replay MGS4. Raiden does some outlandish stuff in that game. He holds a sword with his foot, and kills for heavens sake!!

MK9 is one of the best series reboots... ever. Why? Because it amplified the best aspects of the original titles. Most successful reboots do exactly that.

The gameplay in MK9 is different than regular 3D MKs and different than normal MKs as well not sure what you are getting at.
