Russia is not poor dumb ass. And Ukraine is relatively a safe country. They should stay where they are because everyone should belong to its own place.
Just played the game for about 2 hours....it sure doesnt seem like a low budget game, good job Deep Silver, i hope your working conditions improve with the success of this game.
Man a game with millions and years to polish like GT5 with hundreds of developers managed to score an 8 :( and these humble guys made a master piece working in that conditions.
Russia poor? been there so many times considering that i used to live in Finland so i visited 2 times per year and Russia is not poor--,the government is what doesn't let the country be what is suppose to be.Ukraine is a poor country, the same goes to Russia. Makes you think what the hell other devs are doing with all that time and money.
"Their whole game cost less than some game's cutscenes" That's just ridiculous really.Â
seanmcloughlin
It's easy considering how low the cost of employment is in Ukraine compared to USA, Western Europe or Japan.

...That looked perfectly fine.
I guess not having their own personal gym is "roughing it" in the game industry now.
Have you seen Treyarch's or Infinity Ward's studio? They look like Ceaser's Palace compared to this.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"]

and $900 chairs, althought I he does have a point. You shouldn't have to use foldout chairs were you work.

The work space doesn't look terrible, but that doesn't mean everything was rosy for them either. They don't show the power outages and shit in the video.
They earned my respect. You don't $100 millon dollars to make a good game with top notch graphics. The indsutry should take note....
people shouldnt buy this game, it promotes poor working conditions and by buying it you are only encouraging the bosses o keep the conditions.

I'm not buying it regardless, but what you said is dumb.

Glad they finished the game, hope they get all the money they spent back and can relax in a good holiday... i'll pick the game up once it gets a major price drop
finalstar2007
You want them to recoup their money and yet you won't even buy the game until it drops drastically? :? that's some weird POV you got there
Yup, there are other games that are worth full price than this.. not saying its bad by not buying it day 1 but i dont want to play another FPS.
YET YOU WILL BUY. THE NEXT. CALL OF DUTY. ON RELEASE DAY.
I'm sorry, I just really hope you get banned at some point. Your posts have gotten to me over the years.

Why does it bother you so much that he enjoys CoD? He got his FPS fix with CoD so he is not interested in playing another FPS.[QUOTE="lilnazar"]Russia poor? been there so many times considering that i used to live in Finland so i visited 2 times per year and Russia is not poor--,the government is what doesn't let the country be what is suppose to be. Sounds like they got a sap in here.
Several.
Man, that's pretty depressing. Sorry to hear that these professionals have it like that.Â
I might just have to grab a copy of this game now to give a little support, unfortunately it won't be going to the people who actually need it in the company, it'll go to the overpaid dbags at the top I'm sure.
Sounds like they created the game while working in a post apocalyptic underground ;)
GarGx1
Sounds like they have a scrooge dev studio owner. They certainly don´t sell their game for 5 rubles, but for 50 us dollars. So to where all the money goes.Â

If the overpaid d-bags at the top don't get enough of that money as a return on their investment in Metro, it will be 4A who suffers.Man, that's pretty depressing. Sorry to hear that these professionals have it like that.Â

Except the game is not bad. At all. And I'm willing to bet money that you've never even played it.

Immense respect to them. They made a 9.0 game like that? Damn, let's move these guys into a cushy heated building and see what they can pull off!

We can thank big name publishers for just pissing money into the wind and not into places it should be throw....and in less quantity
It's a different country and having watched the video chubby posted it seems like it's just the guy who used to work at gigantic LA based studio Naughty Dog exaggerating. Gaming is a big budget business, most of the Western studios make your standard office block look like a chicken coop, of course a smaller studio, in a poorer country, with a much smaller gaming industry is going to seem bad to him.people shouldnt buy this game, it promotes poor working conditions and by buying it you are only encouraging the bosses o keep the conditions.

No i dont know if it is a bad game, i have not played it. I mean i don't want buy any bad game just because developers have had bad conditions.
[QUOTE="SexyJazzCat"]Wow. Sounds rough. Imagine what they could achieve with a bigger budget and better conditions.R4gn4r0k
I love how these guys put to shame almost every studio with a budget that was frankly shoe string compared to many AAA studio's.
Bioshock infinite took $200 million to make or something? How the hell did that help the game in any way aside from advertising.
I hate this child like mentality ("there's worse places in the world so that means you can't complain/comment about your situation regardless if its bad or not...... ).[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"]There are women in Asia who have to strain their eyes looking through microscopes for 12 hours a day and lose their site in just a matter of a couple years. Last I checked the developers weren't really complaining. They where mearly describing the situation and user here were giving them praise for still making a good product regardless (keep your kiddie rants to yourself).

Advertising for AAA releases costs a hell of a lot. There's also testing and focus groups.Â
The more expectations are riding on a game, the more a publisher is going to spend to protect their investment. Amenities for the dev team are probably not very high on their shopping list.

Yeah I get that it most likely went into advertising and testing, I just wish the game had more effort put into it for the budget they had. Art assets were very good but the core game was such an incredible bore. It was all Flash.
It felt so so lazy. That's the perfect word for it actually, lazy.
Just goes to show that a large budget doesn't guarantee something amazing I guess.
