Which would you take if they released on the same day without knowing about Metroid Other M's reviews yet.

The metroid reviews weren't that bad. There were some issues like flat voice acting. Weird translated lines. And the length apparently?
The length is the only thing that bothers me.
The metroid universe is more interesting to me. It's more personal and mysterious.
So for me it would be an easy choice with or without reviews. I really want to know more about samus.
Ow and I hate dual analogue in fps. That might weigh in too.
I'd rather have Metroid over Halo any day of the week.Metroid is more interesting and in my opinion way more fun.
Reach.
Metroid is cool and all, but it isn't a Retro Studios Metroid.
Reach is Bungie's swansong, and has all the best parts of Halo included into it.
siddhu33
I agree with you completely.
P.S. Can you check your Gamespot inbox?
Metroid is one of my favorite franchise ever, so no doubt Other M.
BTW, i think this is funny, when Corruption came out, Halo 3 was also about to been released, now Other M and Reach have similar dates too, i think this thread needs some Haloid :P

Both have awesome suits, so why not have the same release dates?

I don't know. In terms of scores, yes. (edit: Ow apparently not. I didn't know other Metroid games scored so low :s) Wii games get low scores anyway, it doesn't really mean anything. I suppose the reviews were bad for a metroid game. But they completely re-did metroid. I didn't really assume that it would be without faults. I just knew that I didn't want to miss this.[QUOTE="KungfuKitten"]

Metroid Prime: 9.7
Metroid Prime 2: 9.1
Metroid Prime 3: 8.5
Metroid Prime Hunters: 8.6
Metroid Zero Mission: 8.5
Metroid Fusion: 8.6
Metroid Other M: 8.5
I'd say it is in line with other Metroid titles.

I'm going to say :o never see it that way.
Not a really good comparison, but I'll bite. While Reach looks impressive and I'm sure it will be the biggest thing since Halo 3, it's not my style. Metroid all the way.
[QUOTE="h575309"]Wii owners will say Other M and 360'ers will say Reach... These threads are pointlessWhat is with this situational threads? I dont get them :?
Id take Reach even if Other M got a 10.
BodyElite
What about those that own both the Wii and the 360?
I play games that I'm interested in... not games that score well.
Either way I'm interested in Other M and not Reach.
EDIT: Also... why does Metroid always come into comparisons with Halo? Is it because both the protagonists use power suits or something? Because Other M is a vastly different game than any Halo game... as is Prime and Echoes for that matter (Corruption is much more of a shooter, and is much closer to Halo).

Other M. I don't the casual over hyped rehash at is reach :Pnintendo-4lifeSomeone has obviously been kept in the dark for the past 3 months. ;)
This thread is filled with gamers that are more hyped for Metroid. I question this because Metroid only has 100,000 preorders (in NA) while Reach now has over 1.5 millionBodyEliteI wonder what pre order / sales are like for Metroid here in the UK, because its getting marketed loads.
Halo Reach for me, the game looks to be the best Halo game yet. As for Metroid I've read that the story in the game is not very good, but overall the gameplay looks solid to me. Will probably get both games.
I don't understand. Did you people not play Metroid Prime 3?Jandurin
Lol Jand. Trying to pretend everyone has Jand standards. :P I'm sure they did, they just didn't hate it as much as you.
Hell, I don't think Foxhound even hated it as much as you. And that is saying something.

I question this because Metroid only has 100,000 preorders (in NA) while Reach now has over 1.5 millionBodyEliteI'm surprised as well. When you look at FPS or 2D threads it becomes very apparent that few people on SW actually played metroids. Plus online play and fps is very popular at the moment. Are you thinking that people are just making things up to hate on halo?

I question this because Metroid only has 100,000 preorders (in NA) while Reach now has over 1.5 millionBodyEliteThe reason for this is because System Wars is not, and has never been, an accurate representation of the majority of gamers around the world.
