Metroid Prime vs HL2

The games aren't similar. However, I would pick Metroid Prime because it is still one of my top 3 favorite games of all time.

I honestly couldn't vote on that one. I love both games but I do think that Metroid Prime will age better in the long run.

metroid prime is a god of a game.

i saw absolutely ZERO flaws in it, it was perfect, the atmosphere, combat, the very minor intricacies. the game is an absolute gem.

it was one of the first FPS i played on consoles, and it was a damn great game.

i was never a fan of half-life 2 so metroid wins

I sort of Enjoyed Playing Metroid Prime more than Playing HalfLife 2.

Then again I only played HL2 for a little while.

HL2 no doubt, I liked prime but it got boring towards the end, and I dont recall replaying it either. I have replayed HL2 a couple of times and the episodes

the boss fights alone in metroid prime makes half lige look like its nothing

Metroid Prime. It was literally a flawless game.

Tough choice but I'll go with Metroid Prime, simply because it's one of the first video games I remember getting REALLY into. HL2 had the same effect on me, but the first time's always the best. I really regret selling my Gamecube now....

i doubt most metroid fans, aka console gamers have played half life 2

review wise and sales wise half life 2 (even 1) is the better game, deal with it

Metroid is now a dead franchise, deal with that aswell

Different platforms have different standards (and expectations) which are taken into account when a game is being reviewed. Gamecube games had/have rather low standards...

Metroid Prime was exceptional. The game literally is in it's own category. Half Life is fantastic as well but come on, that's rediculous

Prime has amazing graphics, that still hold up today, which is an acheivement for a 'Cube game. The world in prime really comes alive, you can scan almost anything, the exploring was allways fun and combat really made you think on your toes. The music was amazing, the enemies had loads of varity and the boss battles were intense. Fair enough the story did require a lot of effort on the players part to follow, but that does matter when the game is great.

Half Life 2 is great game, but not the landmark MetroidPrime created. Half Life 2 innovated how we use physics in a game, but not much else, other than that it was just a well thought out shooter.
