And MGS4 had a SUPER lame story

MGS4 is a joke to the gameing community in terms of story telling and characters.

I am sorry but MGS4 was crap

I wont deny it got an AAAAE score here but its overall review ratio is lower then most AAA titles

Its story was crap the boss fights were lame

and the ending seemed like it was thrown together in a few minutes

Havent played gears 2 yet, but i was an adamant fan of gears 1, and I gotta say gameplay and combat-wise, gears wins hands down. I would be able to play combat sequences in gears over and over again without getting bored. I'm sure gears 2 surpasses or at least equals the sheer adrenaline when in combat, but I guess the whole weakness in the gears series is how repetitive it gets. Gears 1 was just shoot, run, hide, shoot (with the exception of that awesome vehicle sequence). The beauty of MGS 4 was that you could beat a level in almost any way you want. MGS4's appeal was that it offered great stealth and combat gameplay in perfect harmony, as opposed to the gears series which mainly focused on combat (the sequences with that giant blind monster was great, though).

Both games are equal in production value, replayability, and graphics, but i think that the successful juxtaposition of stealth and combat elements gives MGS4 the silght edge over gears. Can't wait to play gears 2 though, gotta borrow a friend's 360 asap!
