The game has a 2 year exclusivity without question, if it doesnt sell well, a port CAN CAN CAN CAN be made, if it sells well, then it will never appear on the 360
i know people
Where are you getting this 2 year exclusive crap from?
Did you miss the article (It's right here on Gamespot) where someone from Konami said they would port it if it didn't make enough money off of PS3, and they thought there was a good chance it wouldn't make enough money.GI: Is Metal Gear Solid 4 still exclusive? Is that solidified and will never appear on the Xbox 360?
Harrison: Yes. We said it was an exclusive title.
Read it and weep lemmings

If you trust Phil Harrison over Konami's word on this subject you're a fool.

Whos making it????
Konami and Kojima Studios I presume.:| Or whoever made the last "S" versions. Saying you won't port MGS is different than saying you wont release version 2.1. Technically, MGS2 was a PS2 exclusive, Substance was multiplat.Different SKUs for different hues.

Kitaue did mention he wants to port #4, but CVG reported that he has repeatedly pressured Kojima, but Kojima has staunchly said "no."
Like i said before. Whos going to make it??? Since kojima is not. Well thats atleast what he tells us.KillfoxHe said MGS4 will not go on the 360. A "Sub____" version would be a different SKU. We went through this 5 years ago with MGS2...

Kitaue was the one that made the statement that if sales did not improve, something would have to be looked at. They never specifically stated that they would look at the 360. They could go the PC route or maybe the PS2 route. Or it may be rheteric to get Kojima working a little faster.
And for anyone thinking that this is Kojima's decision whether it becomes a 360 game or not gives developers too much credit. While Kojima has a lot of clout, Kitaue has to answer to the stock owners. And they want proft not failure. So if Kitaue feels that a multiplatorm version of MGS4 is needed, then it will ge made.
What do you mean it was announcement? It was from an interview.because it was an announcement. :|

Wrong.
While what you say may be true for any other developer, Hideo Kojima is not your average developer. He sits on the board of directors at the same meetings as Kitaue.
He was the former Vice President of Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, a position a least as high, if not higher than Kitaue's. He voluntarily gave up that position to focus on game creation, which resulted in the creation of Kojima Productions.
James Mielke, an industry insider and friend of Kojima's, has said on a previous 1up Show that it's clear from first-hand observation that nobody pushes Kojima around at Konami.
Kojima has been the primary impetus behind Konami's biggest franchise for 20 years. If Kojima lets it happen, it'll happen. If he doesn't, the company will have to muster all its executive power to overrule him. And Konami cannot afford to offend or lose Kojima by violating his will.
Kojima seems like a bright guy to me. Surely he is competent enough to understand that a business must earn money to survive and if a game cost more to make than it earns in sales that is bad for the company. So if MGS4 does not recover it's development costs then porting it is the sensible thing to do.Wrong.

I mean if they did go multiplatform there's certainly a good chane of it being on PC also but 360 is the obvious choice. And maybe this talk of PS3 exclusivity is just rhetoric to get people buying the system a little faster.

It's possible.
But the point is that nobody knows at this point whether or not MGS4 will recover its development costs. Companies are generally risk-averse when their interests are at stake, so there is substantial pressure within the company to port.
What we do know is that Kojima is standing his ground because he wants to give MGS4 a chance to succeed as a PS3 exclusive. Other Konami exec's don't want to take that chance (they'd rather minimize chances of failure by porting early), but until Kojima allows it, they cannot force him to port the game.
It's possible. The Konami executive in question here did say in that interview that he wanted to give it a chance as a PS3 exclusive. He just also said that he was not very confident that it would be enough of a success and implied that they would port it if it wasn't.But the point is that nobody knows at this point whether or not MGS4 will recover its development costs. People hear me! MGS4 is not a good game and is more like one of them terrible anime movies that make you wonder how in the hell do people actually enjoy this stuff?
Us 360 gamers have better games - Halo3, Mass Effect, Too Human, and UNO on XBL:shock:

I'm going by what's been reported in CVG. According to inside sources, Kitaue has already been pressuring Kojima to develop the game as a multiplat. Kojima has flatly refused.
