MGS4 and FF13 can not and WILL NOT save the PS3.

VGChartz is unreliable garbage and have been proven to be wrong many times. In fact, VGC actually adjusts its "estimates" every time NPD comes out, clearly showing how unreliable VGC is.

Lets just cut right to the chase. MGS and FF games have not been the primary reasons the PS systems did so well. They were nothing more then added bonuses. Look at FF and MGS sales they were not like god almighty system sellers.

The real dilemma and i mean DILEMMA for PS3 now is just it's entire game library. This is what made PS1 and PS2 so successful. This has all changed. The 360 has the big game library now and it's just not games it's AAA games and the public knows this now. This is why PS3 struggles and will continue to struggle. MGS4 and FF13 will be nothing more then a sales blip of an increase and then after a week or so will go back to the struggling PS3 that is has been and will continue to be.

Meanwhile why PS3 awaits these titles and delays. 360 just keep gathering and enormous plethora of AAA games. And the public has clearly seen the light on this.

How much you want to bet MS will release Banjo Threeie and Gears Of War 2 next holiday. And Game Over once again for Sony next holiday season.

Is a matter of FACT GEars is so poperlur now If MS releases Gears 2 next Holiday MGS4 and FF13 would be overshadowed by the general consumer. And Gears would be the big hot game to have for the Holidays.

Why you ask becuase GEARS RULESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and everyone knows it. And when MS releases that it will be BY BY MGS4 and FF13 4rth holiday in a row MS has owned you.

VGC had the PS3 out-selling the x360 in July (first price cut) and yet VGC adjusted their "estimate" once NPD's July report came out showing the x360 actually out-selling the PS3 in July.

VGC is garbage. Pure and simple

360 sold as much as the PS3 did in its first year. 360 sales went up just because of Gears and now Halo. Ps3 is going to out sell the 360 this christmas.

That's all about how you frame it, technically, your wrong. in the U.S. Gears of War probably has a much bigger fanbase than MGS or FF13 do. Everywhere else, FF13 and MGS probably have a bigger fanbase than gears. This kid has some point to it. Alot of peoples tastes are changing. Sony used to make alot of sales off Sports games, and people are getting bored of those. All my friends ever used to play were sports games, and now they all buy 360's and play shooters b/c they say madden is getting old MLB is getting old blah blah. Same thing seems to be happening to every school I visit. 360 seems to have a significantly bigger grasp on the US market, and I am becoming quite skeptical if the PS can ever catch up now.

Hi there. I'm a self-admitting Nintendo fan - who owns a PS2. Never once did I buy any of the MGS or FF games for the PS2 (both series were amazing while I had my PS2, and I didn't buy it... sometimes, I wish I'd actually buy the good games for a system), and still I got tons of enjoyment out of the system. The only reason why Final Fantasy XIII might not be sucessful is because it's coming out for the PS3 - granted, a great system, but much too expensive for my tastes... still... it's Final Fantasy.

For now, I'll stick with Galaxy: but part of me wishes I could go out and buy the new FF game when it comes out - and if anything will give a boost to the PS3, it's Final Fantasy. The only things keeping the PS3 from really competing against the 360 are three things: price, lack of exclusives, and a general lack of good games in general - if they can put out some great exclusives, look for the PS3 to make a comeback.
