MGS4 looks awful. Is this the best the PS3 can do? (56k a no go)

indeed. same thing. highly detailed characters and low res textures in the surroundings.

There is one little difference though imo: in ng2 you will have less time to notice them cause it's a fast paced game.. in MGS4 you'll be actually staring at them for large amounts of seconds sometimes. But i much rather play MGS4

well chutebox, i haven't encountered them, but my point still stands, most people who are big MGS fans already have or will buy a PS3 for the game. as a none fan, i am not bothered. i suspect most other lemms wont buy a ps3 for this game alone.

and BTW bioshock isn't over-rated IMO if you like very atmospheric games with an intriguing story, you will love it.

I know I'm going to love it, I loved the demo on 360. But many people here do think it's overrated.

But no game site ever said halo 3 was going to be one of the greatest games of all time. Is this why u are really angry about MGS4m because your favorite series is about to get sh**ted on, Yeah I may own a 360 aswell but I aint no halo fanatic like u. Yes halo is a great series and prolly one of the best online multiplayer games in the business but thats about it. The story isnt even all that in the games unless u read the books which I think is a damn ripoff since the story should be in the game, and u in here talking about MGS4 graphics when almost every site that has played the game has said its graphics are amazing and is compared to the best graphical games that are out now like gears and uncharted. Just to be put in that league makes it a better looking game graphically then halo 3. So I dont see why u even arguing. Why dont u wait till the game comes out and let us show u how the game really looks then. :)clintos59

No they said the best graphics this side of Crysis. Implying that its graphically the best looking game on consoles atm

IGN most be on drugs then,coz no console game rivals crysis,and crysis doesnt lack of High Re textures.

No doubt, but games of this size never have quality textures(except Crysis) and MGS4 is HUGE, they said its not quite GTA level but by far the most open worlded MGS to date

I have seen better screenshots of NG2 and the textures dont look like that,if you explode the resolution of a 720p game to 1080p ofcourse the textures will look like ass,most of the screens from NG2 are 1080p and the high resoltion textures and the game itself are native 720p.

huge game, yes, but not open ended gameplay. there are a couple of paths you can take, but the gameprogression is still linear i think.

point is.. both games have detailed characters and low res textures in the back grounds.. (also in 720 P... whoever made that silly comment)

Maybe still pictures simply don't do the game justice. Maybe those are just bad pictures. Maybe it's a combination of both.AmyMizuno

probably. it's the with uncharted, still pictures don't look that impressive imo but if you see the game running it is just eyecandy.

the pics could have also been taken from an earlier built or whatever. what i've seen from the game so far is simply amazing.
