If they were to announce it tonight, hypothetically, it would be a nice amount of time to build up hype to show off all of their Launch titles E3, just like Nintendo will be doing with the Wii-U.

makes sense to announce it in some form tbh, gets a headstart on sony, and gets out before nintendo can show anything concrete

Even just a mention from Microsoft of the next Xbox would be nice, a prototype name maybe?. I doubt it though as Sony's was average at best and centered on home electronics ( funny that ) . I'm keen to see more of Windows 8.

dont get too excited, in all likely hood nothing will be announced, it makes sense to announce it and build hype for e3 but when did that ever have any bearing on what these companies do

I doubt MS will talk about their next-gen console at CES.

so far its about dumb down features for the casuals who'll have problems using it anyways--tweets,facebook,app,etc. still playin catch up to apple (sigh)
