@charizard1605: If you are going to include Killer Instinct and Excite Bike for Nintendo, you have to include: Blood Wake, Brute Force, Deathrow, Crimson Skies, and probably other XBox games.

Microsoft does not have the same brute force and room to maneuver now as they did when the Xbox first launched.

Right now Apple is flanking them on one side and Google is flanking them on another. It is extremely doubtful that Microsoft is going to be willing to dump hundreds of millions or billions of dollars into trying to reverse the Xbox One's fortuntes.

Yes, MIcrosoft could probably afford to spend an ungodly amount of money to just buy EA and secure all of their properties. That would save the Xbox One, but it would suddenly leave Microsoft with absolutely no ammunition to fight off its other rivals. Apple will suddenly bite MS's head off in the portable market, Google will suddenly crush all of MS's software, and even Amazon will probably get a few good bites in too.

FF went to Playstation because they used CDs which allowed Squaresoft to put their FMV in FFVII whereas the N64 cartridges were very limiting. Please know what the **** you are talking about before calling people names. I've never seen a poster go from 0 to irrelevant as fast as you.

Yes, buying out properties makes sense and is a good practice for when you're first entering the market.

The problem here is that the Xbox brand is 14 years old and they're *STILL* acting like a new company. The Xbox brand is almost 14 years old and they have almost *nothing* to show for it. Nintendo developed their own portfolio by the 14 year mark. Sony bought a bunch of stuff and developed their own portfolio by the 14 year mark. Microsoft has hardly developed anything of their own, and now they own almost nothing of particular, lasting value and now its biting them in the ass.

PS4 isn't selling well because Sony is a rich company, Sony as a whole is doing terribly. PS4 is selling well because the Xbox One is an empty shell and Microsoft has practically nothing to offer.

Tekken, Ace Combat, Ridge Racer, Devil May Cry, Katimara Damacy, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, Resistence, Ratchet & Clank, Spyro The Dragon, etc..etc.. No one complained about this at all. Microsoft gets TR exclusive. All hell breaks out. Meltdowns everywhere. lmao!! Hypocrites.

Someone aware me on the PS4's AAAEs

Sony lost $10 billion in 6 years with the Playstation brand. Microsoft had lost over $5 billion with the original Xbox. As you can clearly see, they've recoup a lot of those loses. Sony has been losing billions for the last 6 years and have been selling buildings, stocks and internal divisions just to keep loses down. They've laid off over 8000+ employees as well. The Xbox 360 has been profitting for over the last 5 years. The XBox loses M$ currently have are mostly from R&D & Manufacturing of the XB1 which started in 2011 & 2012. .

When are people going to realize that Microsoft and Sony both have the same strategy? They are succumbing to 3rd party demands, and attempting to grab every last dollar they can from the consumer. There's really no difference.

MS isn't even selling the Xbox One at a loss, unlike Sony with PS4. Hell, Sony never even made a profit with the PS3. Not that I care, but I'm sure you guys will wack off to these facts.

edit: Sony does make a profit of about $15 on PS4, while MS makes about $80 on X1. My mistake.

Not a lemming. I'm a Cow hater. When cows bash the PC and Wii U, I defend those platforms too. The problem is Cow bash XB1/Microsoft like 90% of the time. So my defense of it is close to 90% of the time. lol!! When hermits say say PC are graphically superior to the PS4 and Cow's argue it, I defend the PC. It is graphically superior, because it's not a stagnant platform. As for the numbers, the Xbox was profitting up until R&D began on the XB1. They spent some billions on that. That's the main reason the XBox is showing some losses. Sony had billions in loses for the PS3 and then they spent billions more doing R&D for the PS4. That's why they are $10 billion in the hole over the last 6 years.

Yea, I'm a cow hater myself too. They are the most hypocritical and entitled faction. It's quite hilarious, and they act like every exclusive that comes out on a PS platform is an all time great game, when in reality, the best games are all multiplatforms. Killzone 2 and 3 were some of the worst FPS I have ever played and is the textbook definition of all flash, no substance. Much like Ryse, or so I hear as I've yet to play it. Uncharted 2 was also the most overrated game I've ever played and I was so pissed off after I read all the praise for it on this stupid forum years ago. Sony wishes they could emulate the success and community of XBL with Halo and Gears, but they just can't do it.

Another drawback to MS's strategy; we've gotten to the point now where whenever MS says that they have an exclusive franchise that isn't Halo/Gears/Forza, people automatically assume that they really mean its a timed exclusive and eventually they'll get it on a different console or PC anyway.

Most of the time, this automatic assumption actually does pay off. Not a good position to be in when every time you announce you have an exclusive, very few people actually take you seriously. Not to imply that Sony doesn't also pull crap with timed exclusive, but it isn't as reliable as predictable as it is with MS.

And seriously guys, exclusives are great an all, but 90% of all games are multiplatform and include pretty much all the best franchises. My favorite racing game? Nope, not Forza, GRID on PC. My favorite WPPG? Skyrim on PC. Favorite shooter right now? Borderlands 2 on PC. The only reason I got the damn Xbox One is for the Halo Collection and Halo 5, what the hell is there on PS4 that I can't already play on PC or Xbox One? Oh, another Killzone game?...:/ No thanks. Nintendo has made more profit during their years in gaming than Microsoft and Sony COMBINED. They're not going anywhere.

Sony certainly isn't perfect but they're closest thing we've got. They're basically a better and improved version of Sega and Nintendo combined. Microsoft? They're our trojan horse that pretends to be into video games but really isn't. It's going to take a major culture shift at Microsoft which we're currently seeing with Phil Spencer. It's going to take 5-10 years before we start seeing the fruits of his efforts though.

Things will be a lot better for XBox fans if they can admit to themselves that they have an N64 on their hands this gen. Just.. MS needs to bridge that gap with its first party to stay relevant the way the N64 did being the difference.

• Max Curse of the Brotherhood - (Press Play)
• Kinect Sports Rivals - (Rare)
• LocoCycle - (Twisted Pixel)

XBox 360 has over 84 million. (LMAO @ 5 million. Even the original XBox sold over 5 million.) The Wii has over 100 million installed user base as well. Let me know when you find your brain.

@Kjranu: All three companies are the same, out to make money. You paint Sony as closest thing to perfect, why, what have they done that's any different than the other two?

Sony charge for online, buy exclusive dlc, buy timed exclusives (first to console) charging to rent back catalog titles (ps now) charge for Music on PS4 (music unlimited)

They could almost be Microsoft as they do all that as well, bar the renting of back catalog, but that will arrive at some point using azure for platform/infrastructure as a service to handle it. These companies are only here to make money from us all.
