Nope 343 is consisted of ex Halo 1 and 2 employees. Halo 4 may be the best yet. Who knows?and now halo UNIVERSE starts to go down hill
gamer-adam1
Well Its kind of true. When people think of Halo, they think of Master Chief. God of war- Kratos, Uncharted- Drake, Final Fantasy - mainly cloud.

guess we will have to see, no halo game has yet to have the same feel or close to it, that Halo CE had
I agree they lost their way with ODST and Reach, but not because MC wasnt in them.
xXCombatWombat
how did they lose their way with Reach, ODST was good just too short, and still gave you the "power" of being MC
I love Reach. Yet everything I've read recently makes it seem like the game was just okay. >.>UCF_KnightNo it was great its just internet haters on forums. Ignore them.
master chief was far from a generic super soldier specially in his perosnality. but I read the books so...Yes, because a generic super soldier really held the series

I hated ODST, and the fact they said it was going to be 40 then jacked it up to 60 makes me nervous about the new CE remake. Reach was good for the most part but felt like it took a lot of what Halo great and removed them/tweaked them (Crappy maps, Bloom, AA, Dual wielding). Still a good game, but not better than the old ones .

I agree.. I cared ZERO about the stories in ODST or Reach cause they are just idiots who are going to get killed so lol why should I care?.. I want to be a character whos actually going to do something awesome.
kinda agree. I love Reach and odst, but I know what you mean. Chief + Cortana just has something magic about it.I agree. The Halo games without MC didn't have that missing ingredient. They were still amazing games, but MC puts the games over the top.

I can say the same thing reguarding any game that has novels as side stories. That doesn't change the fact that the character was generic in the game.

SGT. Johnson is the best part of halo, except I know he would suck if he was the main
cant wait till the market is burnt out on all these FPS games. maybe these devs will start to think outside the box. Gaming Sucks right now
[QUOTE="dream431ca"]master chief was far from a generic super soldier specially in his perosnality. but I read the books so... Maybe they should learn to make him not generic in the games, because he sure is. The number of past bungie employees now working for 343 industries can be counted on one hand.
I dunno. Playing as MC in Halo: CE feels kinda like playing as Gordon Freeman to me, a placeholder person just there so you have someone to play as.
At least Master Chief opens his mouth once and a while, and that's good.
On the other hand, having a more blank character to play as is a plus, since your actions in game wouldn't be as likely to conflict with the character you're playing as. Still, any blank slate will do, and there isn't anything about that particular character that stands out to me as special.
MC doesn't do anything towards any of the games. When people think Halo they don't think MC they think dude in Spartan armor. And thats what you get with all Halos. What a crock of a story lmao.

Not every employee at Bungie had a say in development. Very few would have creative control, the rest just being the grunts that make it a reality. I'm not sure which Bungie employees are at 343 or what their roles were, but if they played creative roles than 343 could be very beneficial to the Halo franchise. The grunts are replaceable, as long as they're replaced by competent coders, artists etc. The creative minds aren't.
No link TC. It will be good to play as MC again, but I hope they keep expanding on the universe in their games not just books. Playing as an ODST was great, the Reach story as the Rookie was great.SaltyMeatballs
I really really thought that in reach they should have done it where the rookie you played as was actually Master Cheif before he became Master Cheif...
That would have been like the coolest reveal since... we found out Samus was a girl

Master Chief was already Master Chief long before Reach.[QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"]No link TC. It will be good to play as MC again, but I hope they keep expanding on the universe in their games not just books. Playing as an ODST was great, the Reach story as the Rookie was great.VendettaRed07

I'm not exactly 100% knowlledgable on all Halo lore, but didn't the "MC before he was MC" spend much of his time resting in a capsuler? Wouldn't have been right seeing as how Reach is what happened right before Halo 1 and in Halo 1 we see Chief being awakened and leaving his capsule.
[QUOTE="gamer-adam1"]Nope 343 is consisted of ex Halo 1 and 2 employees. Halo 4 may be the best yet. Who knows? Yep, all 5 of them. :P Anyways, this is kind of a dumb comment from Microsoft. MC in the games was only a vehicle for the player to exist in the world, Halo 3 was the only one that gave him any emotions or personality. I don't think anyone minds if the universe expands to tell the stories of different characters. In fact, speaking as a fan, I like it. So yeah, this sounds like some PR shenanigans to me.and now halo UNIVERSE starts to go down hill

[QUOTE="dream431ca"]master chief was far from a generic super soldier specially in his perosnality. but I read the books so...Honestly, I loved both but I felt Reach was a bit better at the atmosphere, environment, and had the best campaign in the series next to CE. I felt some characters of your team were definitely under developed (Emiel ... or however you spell it) but at the same time... it just felt so different (like ODST) yet it felt familiar (CE) and still "Halo" like.Yes, because a generic super soldier really held the series

I'm not commenting on the quality of these past bungie employees or 343 industries themselves, but people seem to think that the majority of 343 industries' employees are past Bungie employees when they aren't.
