Microsoft said it would be available for free for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers. I have Xbox Live Gold and I can't get it. Misleading.[QUOTE="BigJerm1"]
[QUOTE="Clank-PS-Snake"] When, since the launch of the PS3, has Sony given misleading info? Compare the number of times that Sony did to the number for Microsoft and you'll know why people tend to dislike MS more from the two.[QUOTE="DarthBilf"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]
so...Microsoft announced something and was free and clear what it meant...but some how because you cant get it or something its misleading?
RogueShodown
He's too much of a fanboy to admit it.
depends, if he said its for ALL xbox live gold members, than it is Misleading, but if he just says its for live gold members, its not misleading, if it is, than every single commercial about a product is missleading
But on the other hand I can say to you stop defending Microsoft.sad just sad, Microsoft doesnt do anything wrong, but gets all the hate. to clear things up why not everyone can get it.
1. other countrys have different laws, which is why lots of things the states get no one else gets.
2. easyiest reason why ESPN isnt for everyone, because the companys dont want it. ESPN clearly has a deal with those companys, so if any 360 users can use it, than those ISP might loss protental sales.
3. stop blaming microsoft. sometimes I think everyone here owns there own a company in the gaming world.
gamer-adam1
The fact is they made a mistake and mispoke they could easily of worded it differently to be where it was people with access to it could then get it on their xbox.

depends, if they said its for ALL gold users than yse, but if he just said gold users hes not. it should be common knowlegde that when something that when a feature is announced doesnt mean its for anyone, everyone in the world except for the states knows that. we in canada still havent gotten last fm yet.

After the ESPN guys came out and talked about all this great content, the MS guy comes back and says "ESPN on XBox 360 brings the ultimate sports experience to your living room. And all of this is available to our Xbox 360 Gold members at no additional cost." The wording leads one to believe that if you have an Xbox 360, and are a Gold member, you will get ESPN for Live.
They didn't say "This content is only available to Xbox Gold members who already have access to it through their ISP on their PC or PS3."

Some of them were real, Your Shape, for example seemed live. Some of them were question marks. Some seemed quite staged, e.g. the Forza Kinect tech demo was staged, there's a gif floating around of it where it has "negative lag". And Skittles can't really be tickled.[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]
[QUOTE="RogueShodown"] It was obvious that they did for the trailers, but how do you know they did for E3?gamer-adam1
That doesn't necessarily mean they don't work though.
ok if skittles cant really be tickled how do you even play the game? just pet its back over and over and over again?
They can play with Skittles however they may choose, they can still pretend to tickle Skittles, but Kinect can't distinguish fingers so it's pointless.[QUOTE="gamer-adam1"]

The fingers just moved automatically on the screen, regardless of what my actual fingers were doing. It just takes the position of your hands. In the stage demo though her hand positions don't really match what's on-screen anyway.

So it could be a software problem?
You could tell at e3 the on-screen hands were not doing what the litle girl was doing.
Kinectimals or whatever it's called looks alot like Viva Pinata ... I can't help but feel these games took next to no time to make.
[QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"]How is Kinect misleading? Yeah. And I like the look of the archery game for move, but that means I have to buy multiple wands? Sure, Sony doesn't rip us off also.lol typical MS trying to mislead the customer just like with Kinnect

Do you mean with regards to tracking fingers? No I'm pretty sure the tech just can't map fingers. It was touched upon in a recent Digital Foundry interview about Move: "Weirdly, they seem to have Microsoft Kinect adverts in the E3 toilets, saying that this is the controller that's taken five million years to develop. That five million years doesn't seem to encompass the evolution of the hands or the fingers. Kinect is cool but it can't scan fingers. That's where the lowest possible latency is, the most direct connection you have with the game."

Well if true that's no good. We won't know for sure since it's still in its infancy. Either Way Natal sucks.
What is all this talk about the Skittles stage demo is fake and it doesn't track fingers or whatever and what she was doing didn't match what was happening on screen. It's a little girl playing the game, she was using her imagination to tickle Skittles.

Go look up the definition of misleading; it's more of telling half of the truth than just lying.
MS also created the illusion that the animal responded to a name. I doubt calling the animal by a name would really cause it to react in any way. What is all this talk about the Skittles stage demo is fake and it doesn't track fingers or whatever and what she was doing didn't match what was happening on screen. Umm Kinect isn't misleading it just belongs on the toy aisle and not with the video games. As for this ESPN spin, Microsoft, you are one dirty company.lol typical MS trying to mislead the customer just like with Kinnect

Why do you people defend Kinect so much? It's garbage, simple as that. Dont blame software or the person playing the game. If this many problems are showing up odds are their true. It's possible these problems can be fixed, but they dont have a lot of time.Kokuro_Kun
You realize that this doesn't really matter though right. Kinect has no real competition as it's different enough from the Wii to attract casuals who don't care about these flaws, whereas Move very similar to the Wii's controls and has direct competition from a very successful, already established control scheme. I'm not a fan of either, but seriously, it's not going to be the catastrophe that people are making it out to be.
Like they would come out and explain this in the middle of the presentation? You people are amazing. Obviously the information is out there for you to learn more about the subject, so get over it.lol typical MS trying to mislead the customer just like with Kinnect

ESPN took up about maybe 7 minutes of the conference. :?Microsoft should really stop hyping things only a vertain part of the userbase can take advantage of. No one outside the US can use it, and only some people in the US can, and they make it take up 20 minutes of there e3? How ridiculous ...
