Xbox should be doing better worldwide. It's a solid console just like the Playstation4 is. In fact they are practically identical. Do you like Uncharted or Halo? Forza or Japanese RPGs? All the best games are on both and System War's much overblown "exclusives" have meant nothing to anyone else for some time now. Xbox suffers from a negative view of Murica and Microsoft negativity abroad. If there is an alternative to that they will take it and do. There is no good reason to hate Sony but Microsoft has a stigma for some people. And they don't do a good job of marketing in non English speaking countries. I think the new Xbone S is great though and am glad I own one.

Just to be clear are you attempting to arguing that Xbox is any where close to PlayStation as a brand in worldwide appeal? Just to be clear we are not talking about subjective quality of product, but rather the number of countries where a significant amount of consumers actually care about the product. Even staunchest Xbox supporter will not argue that Xbox has the same global presence that PlayStation. It's the reason the PlayStation in dominating right now. The two consoles are really close in the U.S. and UK, but Xbox is barely competing in most other markets. That is also the reason PS3 was able to compete last generation despite the 360's utter dominance in the U.S.

This subject is not up for debate. It's fact.

People love Apple and Coca Cola. Microsoft does not have the same kind of appeal. Apple and Coca Cola do not bring to mind NASCAR and Monster energy drinks though. It's a different view of America that Xbox tends to bring to mind. Don't blame me, I disagree and really love my Xbone.

No deffinatley not. Just an example. The typical Xbox loving racer fan see's all JRPG's the same though so it still works. Myself, I love Forza and am also sorta into JRPG's. Mostly the older ones but I will likely play Persona 5.

I don't think Xbox is suffering because of some anti-American bias. It may be suffering from anti-Microsoft sentiment, which is completely justified btw.

Something is not true just because you state it as a "fact" so is it a well known brand worldwide like you claimed? i gave you a list of all the current countries in the world, now please go do the relevant research, and if you can come back with a link proving what you said, then i will believe it is indeed a "fact" and if not, then you should stop pushing your opinion as "fact"

As for your regional statement, well the Xbox brand it's well known in many regions, not just 1, is it not?

VR? Multiple high rated exclusives released throughout the year? PS4 Pro 4K gaming? Is the year only 3 months long?

And many gamers have a PC...so why buy into an option that is 1. Going to be overtaken by s new MS console in the near future and 2. Is drastically weaker than the PC option for playing MS games.

And Playanywhere is great for gamers....but ppl boasting about its something that should increase sales for sales need to know that's a big reason why xbox's aren't selling as much.

Maybe you should stay out of conversations that have nothing to do with you, or at the very least, qoute from the original post, and not from one that makes it out to be something different from SBV's original post.

Also when one puts forth something that they portray as "fact" then they should put forth a link proving said "facts" otherwise it's just an opinion, which is what i was referring to in the first place.

So in the end if you want to use the link i provided SBV, and prove that the PS brand is well known around the world, then by all means knock yourself out, and if you provide links with proof then i'll believe it as fact, until then i'm sorry but it's just an opinion, either way have a nice day :)

Added to the fact PS4 is current gen 8 most recent 10/10 AAAAE excluive and by golly that's a sign of world class gaming. To that its a reason why PS4 is a almost 2:1 sales advantage of X1.

I really don't think 3 months of success is better than 3 years of success.

PS4 was never good. It just wasn't as bad as X1. They never offered anything compelling or new aside from the odd exclusive here and there.

Nope. MS doesn't have the games for the world wide market. They cater to Americans/Canadians/some Europeans. You need diversity to be a world leader. Not to say if you are part of their target demographic you can't have some fun.

Few reasons why: The bad 2013 E3 showing, the flip flopping of always on stuff they mentioned, kinect having to be plugged in (initially), costing 100 dollars more than PS4 at launch, etc. I've heard the chat party stuff was pretty terrible initially but has gotten better. Backwards compatibility is a nice feature and would love for PS4 to have it (that PS Now bs doesn't count) but I'm not sure that is why people would by an X1.

Look, I understand those games might not be to your taste but you can't use only your opinion to define a console's sales. For the vast majority of gamers PS4 still has the better lineup. You just have to deal with the fact that PS4 is considered better by the the majority of gamers around the world.

I was not debating whether the PS brand has more global presence then that of the Xbox brand, i even said the PS brand was more popular atm. I took aim at SBV's use of the word "fact" and using it in relating to the PS being well known in every country around the world. Do you know for a fact that the PS brand is well known the world over? if so could you provide me with some links please.

@StrongBlackVine You have a source for all these claims? Xbox is only popular in the UK and NA? Going off memory the 360 had sold around 30M in the US by 2013 and around 10M in the UK by the same date. It sold over 80M so where did these 40M+ go?

Xbox 360 sold around 45 million in the U.S. Not sure on he UK number, but it likely high than 10 million. 25 million spread across the rest of the entire world is not exactly having a global presence.

Of course this generation the sales in Europe and Japan(LOL) have completely gone to shit so now Xbox is even more dependent on the U.S. and UK. NPD is estimated to be about half of of Xbox One's sale while it account for less than a 3rd of PS4 sales...and PS4 leads in the U.S. this generation. Xbox is EXTREMELY reliant on two countries and their inability to dominate those countries has lead to a massive ass whipping from Sony.

Xbox is highly concentrated in two markets and not even competitive in most other markets. That is regional.

This right here is the truth folks.
