Admittedly, the hardware looks great. But the software remains an enigma: How is the Windows Store going to look on October 26th?
The price is a touch steep, but it aligns well with the iPad. The lack of a GPS chip bothers me a little, though.

I just pre-ordered the 32GB Surface RT with touch type cover and it came to $693 including taxes and free UPS shipping. It says it will ship early to be here on launch day (26th)
This means I don't have to go line up at the Microsoft store before midnight on the 25th to get my hands on one!
Having a full size USB 2.0 and a MicroSD card slot i didn't feel it worth the extra $100+taxes for the 64GB model. A USB 3.0 32GB USB stick is only $20
I would pick one up if the keyboard cover weren't ridiculously expensive. Even by Apple standards $120 for a freakin' cover is ridiculous.Ninja-HippoHow much are other tablet keyboards then?

It's $100 if you order the tablet with it, it's only $120 as a stand alone item, you can also order it for $500 without the touch type cover.
I find it ridiculous how a tablet is more expensive than a gaming PC.
XVision84
It isn't, my graphics card alone came to almost $400 after taxes when I bought it.
The Surface RT will be a great scondary monitor for neXtBOX games. So many uses from selecting plays in Madden, sorting your inventory and character in RPG's, running playlists for your custom in game soundtracks, a rearview mirror and car telemetry for Forza 5, scoreboard and game stats for Halo 5 , whatever the Tom Clancy and Splinter Cell games can come up with.......

PC gaming isn't about 30fps medium detail I can do that on my Xbox 360. You said it costs more than a GAMING PC and clearly it doesn't.
Looks like it's selling well the version with no keybard for $499 now lists as shipping within 3 weeks instead of by 10/26.

I can blast textures on maximum and it looks much much better than PS3/360. You don't need to get a $1000 computer in order for it to be a gaming PC. If I can get a $500 laptop that can do all that, surely a $750 desktop would be able to do much much more.

Even medium graphical settings in PC games dominates consoles. That makes the entry cost for PC gaming much lower and worthy.

I want one because its more portable/comfortable than a laptop, will fill the tablet void of my life. and be powerful enough to run Photoshop, Microsoft Visual Studio ect. I dunno, I don't think anyway here would rationally be looking at this for a mobile core gaming machine, though it will be able to play a massive back catalog. I hate laptops for gaming no matter how good they are... really feels crap.[QUOTE="percuvius2"]

The best specs they can get is only comparable to Macbook Air. Its successor with better hardwares is gonna make consoles and tower PCs irrelevant.
