I thought Ninty brought the Rumble Pak to the market before Sony had their dualshock? At least that's how I remember it.

Yeah, Rumble was introduced with Starfox 64. The rumble pack slipped into the memory pack slot on the controller.

Well he's right, rumble is lame and old, it doesn't give you any actual feedback. Not sure how you'd achieve that with a gamepad, maybe force feedback on the thumbsticks, I dunno. What I do know is that Kinect sure as hell won't help.

Oh sorry I forgot playing with animals on TV is the REAL way people should play games. I mean who doesnt want to stand and pretend to play kick a ball at a all which they can go outside and do and get actual feedback. Seriously this guy is a joke...

Why do microsoft always have to hire such embarrassing people? First Allard now this guy. I mean look at him. I don't think i've ever seen him in any interview without wearing those goofy shades like he's Bonno or something. You work for a god damn software corporation, put a damn tie on.

What MS doesn't realise is that everything about their console was last gen when they launched it and I prefer rumble over Kinect.

Kinect is just a failure before it even was released.

Didn't Sony have the same opinion earlier this generation? It's not true Microsoft, rumble isn't an integral part of the gaming experience, but it is important.

What are you talking about? Rumble can be used to provide varying degrees of alert. The real problem is that it can drain battery life.

Deja vu. Physical, tactile, haptic feedback continues to be > nothing. But I guess it depends on the type of interactions you're doing. Obviously for a game like Dance Central it's infinitely more preferable to be physically performing the motions rather than pushing buttons and having a thing in your hand vibrate. For something like Forza, Kinect just seems dumb. Effectively the same thing as using the Sixaxis for racing games. Only you're pretending to be holding something.

Well it can be argued that Sony was the first to make it standard on all controllers with the PS2, just like Nintendo was credited with making motion controls standard on the Wii.

I didn't read the OP, but rumble is last gen. That's when rumble became a standard, last generation.

I still would take a rumble controller over a non-rumble controller.

no doubt...sony did that at the start of this gen, and they added back in when they realized that gamers wanted it.

rumble is last gen, because I have yet to see someone use the better rumble tech....can u even tell teh difference? and the better rumble tech I mean, rumble that feels more realistic...that sony said the dualshock would have when they added it back in

gamer-adam1

I find PS3's rumble lacking, the 360 rumble however I think is awesome, much better than PS3's. The force feedback is just greater. I agree with everyone that says for racing games rumbles is a must, "driving" over a bridge with rumble is awesome in racing games lol.

highly doubt MS takes away rumble, that's just crazy

Yeah, it will make them feel really cheap. I remember playing the PS3 with its rumble free controller when it first came out. Man did that controller feel cheap! I think it's just because I got used to the weight of the controller. I hope they keep the rumble feature included in the next console. It probably will be featured as DLC.lol

For weapons firing force feedback much greater than rumble. For racing games, 2d fighters, and beat em ups I am not sure what they could do to create a better effect than rumble. If they could find something better yes I wouldn't think it matters much that rumble left. Though what I like the most about rumble is if the game has an earthquake or a ship taking off sometimes the devs max out the rumble and I get a nice massage for a while =D Rumble = Old yet effective for most games at giving a physical effect to the controller. What would be the best way would be rumble and force feedback on the anologe sticks =D Imagine your thumb fighting the stick to steer or something =D
