All exclusives. Plus the previous 6 years of games. They do not suddenly disappear. You have plenty to play.

Besides, this is a pattern that PlayStation has always used so if one bought a PS4 recently without knowing that they will move on to the next console once it is released one has no one to blame but themselves.

@BenjaminBanklin: The Xbox One came out in 2013. The Xbox One X came out in 2017, when the One was already 4 years old. A new console generation was already imminent (they traditionally last 5 years, with the previous one lasting around 7). It was bound to be replaced within two or three years.

Both the One X and the Pro were made for console players that wanted a premium option. But it was still an Xbox One and PS4 respectively.

None of this explains why they pulled a non-consumer friendly move like making an expensive product they're pulling off the market in less than three years. But, still proclaiming to be a consumer friendly company. Even Sony isn't yanking their current products off the market, and they're going full-on into PS5 game development.

Microsoft accuses Sony of "forcing" people into buying their next-gen hardware, but makes the move of pulling their current systems out the market WELL before their new ones launch. That kinda makes them, oh, completely full of shit.

Companies provide exclusive content to keep people interested in there product like Netflix Originals or amazon prime originals or hulu originals and xbox dose not provide any exclusive content and have to Share it with PC to stay in the game so that they can create an illusion of having more people on their platform and that is why they don’t share their Xbox console sales numbers and combined PC and Xbox gamepass numbers

People trying to act like this means they don’t support the system just because they are not making them and putting them on store shelves. Also acting like those who already bought the system are in any way affected by this. These same people no doubt would be saying, if they haven’t already, that Microsoft would have too many systems on the market confusing the consumer with systems that didn’t need to be there because they already have better ones that take their place. Such a sad and pathetic attempt to try and bash Microsoft but I guess that’s just another day for some folks here.

@BenjaminBanklin: There's nothing anti-consumer about this. The audience that would be in the market for a premium console would simply be getting the Series X, not the One X. So having the One X around would cause confusion and be pointless.

You know what would be anti-consumer? Having a last gen console with almost the same name stay on store shelves when the next-gen one is sitting right next to it, with almost the same price point.

Lol, this clown. PS3 was discontinued 2 years after the PS4 launched. Considering the PS4 pretty much broke console records expect it to last at least until 2022-2023

Now you made me think of Sony releasing PS5 S later then discontinuing base PS4/Slim and Pro.

In a nutshell:

The Series X is BC with Xbox One and plays X enhanced games. Microsoft will probably release a Series X S model too which will also play X enhanced titles. Why have three SKU's when you can have 2? If they do release a lower end Series X, having the Xbox One X will just confuse consumers.

As long as MS support One X for service repairs, what's to complain about?

Why not just cease production of the Xbox One S and Digital edition models all together? MS is saying the S-model is a lower end introductory model for potential future Xbox 1 owners. But isn't the XB1X also a lower end than the rumored unannounced Series-S model? They should have simply kept the XB1X in production and make it the lower end introductory 4k capable model. Seem to make sense. At least to me.
