[QUOTE="ReturnOfShinobi"][QUOTE="Zhengi"][QUOTE="ReturnOfShinobi"]Hmm oh okay, so it isnt exclusive, but who cares, this is a big franchise that MS is getting, and i really hope for the love of God that MS creates a JRPG buzz. They are also going to push Vesperia which is awesome, i remember Blue Dragon pushing 200k 360 units that, for a 600k userbase now, thats a lot. Tales happens to be the third largest RPG franchise there and its good to see MS pushing this game so that it not only sells, but the 360 as well. That 600k userbase there is making a HUGE difference and its one of the reasons why Japanese devs such as Namco are supporting the 360, heck the 80k Eternal Sonata got was enough for them to continue on the console..
But yeah, is the conference over? Whats this im hearing about two more SquareEnix RPGs? I hope that doesnt include Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant?
Zhengi
200k on a 600k is good if you only count ratios, but as a company, overall, Blue Dragon was a failed game saleswise. Even with an anime series pushing it and having Akira Toriyama behind the game art, 200k is an epic fail.
But im talking about Japan, were the game was a huge success, its the best selling game on any XBOX console there. So yes, with that said, it sold well in Japan, because even for Japan 200k is a lot, it was enough to keep vesperia exclusive according to Namco, but in EU and NA, the sales were pretty below par. It sold about 550k, which wasnt enough to cover their costs. But regardless, MS need to realise that they need to take a hit in order for their name to be established in Japan. If they allow BD to span onto DS and let the franchises popularity rise, it could mean more for themPlease stop spinning the numbers. 1 million sold is a success. 500k sold would be a success. Bottom line, 200k is an epic fail. Especially with the cost of producing the game 200k does not cover the costs of making it.
Plus, ToV will probably be released on the PS3 as well, but probably only in Japan. It has been hinted at by Namco the same way Trusty Bell has been said to be released on the PS3.
And the fact that it's going on DS to gain popularity just shows you how bad BD has done. You can continue with your ratios and attach ratios and all of that, but bottom line once more is that 200k is an epic failure when it was supposed to do a lot better for MS as a company.
Im not spinning the numbers, 200k in JUST Japan is a huge success for MS, its the best selling game on ANY of their platforms there, in fact 200k is a good number for any Japanese launch, how is that spin or are you going to get even more offended for stating facts:|500k on most accounts is indeed a success, according to VG Chartz, its at 480k, their EU sales havent been updated since launch, which are at 50k, obviously far too low. So it is roughly around 550k, at lowest probably 450k. But with that said, the amount the game cost them, the huge amount of CG work, the massive promotion, the anime series, all that, i NEVER EVER said it was a success as a whole, JUST in Japan, sorry but please dont 'spin' my post:roll:
And if it goes to DS, yeah as i said, it didnt do to well, but if it gains something on that platform and BD2 rolls around on 360, then MS could have a game that sells even better
WOW, Star Ocean 4 is coming to Xbox 360. I cant believe Microsoft got this deal. Im so happy now. Props to Microsoft for not giving up a dead fight. This just goes to show you that Microsoft wont give up in Japan. After todays conference, Im going to predict that FF13 will come to Xbox 360. Mark my word. If Star Ocean can come to the 360 then so can FF13

That would be cool, because the only reason I would get a PS3 right now is for Resistance 2, and FF13. (I haven't played any of the MGS games yet, so I want to play the past ones before I get MGS4.) So if FF13 goes to the 360, then I won't need to get a PS3 for a while yet!
Here's to hoping for KH making it too the 360!
Japan is far from a lost cause, even the PS3 is on life support there, and its software sales are just ahead of 360s. Japanese devs have plenty of reason to invest in the console, its easy and cheap to develope for and if they target the right niche they can get similar salesWOW, Star Ocean 4 is coming to Xbox 360. The problem is that MS was not expecting it to only sell 200k. They were expecting it to be the premier RPG that would open up Japan to adopting their console. Look at it like that and the low numbers at 200k shows that it was indeed an epic fail. And you can't deny the costs of making the game.
Here's a quote from the live blog 1UP did of the MS RPG conference:
"There's no Blue Dragon sequel in evidence, and I hear there won't be one because the first one cost so much and didn't sell as well as Microsoft was hoping. This is just hearsay, though, so don't take my word for it. Blue Dragon is hitting the DS, though, so yay?"

Not evidence, but a rumor. It does show that MS was hoping for more sales and they did not get them in Japan. So once more, 200k = epic fail.

Not a chance. There is no way Sony will let Final Fantasy XIII go to 360. It's funny how lemmings want all the Playstation franchises. First it was MGS 4 and now it's Final Fantasy. If you want the best games get with the best system. :D

Yeah again, its talking about overall sales, 200k was a good number for JUST Japan, offcourse they were expecting more, but those numbers are satisfactory, its the NA and EU numbers that let them down. I dont know, MS were stupid enough not to market LO, which could have shipped a good 100k consoles or so with 150k in game saleswhen these games fail on 360 se will be wandering why they are nearly bankrupt once again. before it's all over and done with se will be begging for sony's support just to stay afloat. -Renegade

Zhengi was being sarcastic.
I think the chances of FFXIII coming to the 360 is highly dependent on how well games like Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4 do. If they come out and sell well that might just prove to Square-Enix that there is indeed a marketplace for their games on the 360 and would give them good reason to bring their main francise to the 360 also. That is assuming of course Sony doesn't already have an exclusivity deal worked out with Square. Anyway this news is great for rpg fans who own the 360.CAlNlACI agree. It seems SE is one of the few companies that is heavily interested in financial statistics. If they were willing to move their biggest series (DQ) to a handheld, nothing would surprise me with them. I just hope the "delays", aren't related to a building of an install base.
Infinite Undiscovery
Star Ocean 4
