Because the RAGE engine is one of the best, easiest and friendliest to work with out there.

It is quite easy.  Without mod tools or an SDK or anything, people still pump out thousands of custom cars, buildings, islands, missions, scripts, and more

Pretty nice, but nothing could bring me to play that mess again.  It ran like **** on PC and none of the fixes I attempted work.

I remember running it on a 9600GT. Ran fine aswell.

i just got what should be a pretty good computer (gtx 770 and i5 4670) but i cant get my game to look this good. Could be a mix of not installing the right add-ons in addition to the icenhancer, some of the texture packs being dead/broken when i download the .rars and my monitor not being the best quality, though still at 1080p. I'm so jealous of these screenshots :'(

To bad that GTA IV still isn't fun for me. The older GTA games from the PS2 are a lot better then IV ever was. Hopefully V is good.

As usual, the maker of the mod doctors it up with custom cars and building/road textures that don't come with the mod, and when all are combined, the framerate is near unplayable and the cutscenes look like ass.  The mod makes fancy screenshots, nothing more

It truly was, I've had hundreds of hours of fun in mp freeroam with friends. The city is still the best in any open world sandbox game

lol at the people saying it sucks, it got a 10/10 on GS and is one of the highest rated games of all time. I've put 100's of hours into the game as have people I know.
