Minecraft consoles sale surpasses PC version.

sorry bro, windows 8 does it. I agree perhaps that this should of been a no brainer with windows 7 and earlier... but a non-issue as of now.

In terms of sales, PC profits are just insane and are actually getting better every year.

Until you try to use full screen mode and multiple spaces. Although mavericks changed some of this, but then there were issues with apps not remembering which display they were on. I honestly don't use it much though

Can we all agree that there are more "PC's" out in the world today then all video game consoles combined? Most likely a ratio of about 10,000 to 1?

Second, we all agree, That the "PC" Version of the game is vastly superior in every aspect? Right?

Ok, so there are a kajillion more PC's out there than consoles. (Plus Mac/IOS/Tablets and all that other stuff). Right?

Yet the version of the game, not for all consoles, Just X360 & Ps3 and Ps3 just released a few months ago sold more copies....than PC.

You mean the systems specifically designed for games... PS3/360 combined about 150 million gaming devices? easier to understand for everyone from kids to non techinical adults bought more copies than 1 platform combined? that 10000:1 ratio is a pile of nonsense....

hell my little cousin has it for 360 and kindle..... and he talks about it non-stop. he doesn't have the PC version because his parents are techinical invalids who have not raised him to use one thus far. (hes 9.). yet most of his favourite youtubers that talk about the game and the really cool things to do... are playing friggin PC mods.

how is this a victory for anyone other than techinical invalids?

Well "technical invalids" might be a little harsh. Hell man, I was a PC Gamer before 90% of you were born. I was running a BBS and "Down Loading" games before there was an Internet! ,8,1 if you here what I'm saying!

But the reality is, sometimes you just want to come home, sit on the couch and press a f'n button and everything work. Simple, quick, easy, fun.

I got sick and tired of Video Cards, and Drivers and Up Dates and this and that and compatibility with friends and blah blah blah blah blah. I have the PC Version of Minecraft, it sucks. Sure it may be better if you want to down load this or dick with that, or that and this and get your friends to all do this and play on this server there.

F that. I hit a button, join games, share games, 4 player split screen. So much simpler. So much gooder.

@High-Res: Used to PC game in the olden days. Generalizing that the pc's from back then are the same as today.

To catch you up a bit. There's this cable called a HDMI cable. It has hidden magical properties that in simpler terms make the PC connect to a tv and allow couch gaming. I know, huge technological advances.

... Minecraft is a little java game.... takes 5 seconds to download, install and play.

I often do play in Vanilla servers but even then there are people who hack and it once again ruins the PC experience. Once again I prefer the PC version of the game but all the bullshit that most PC players introduce to the game just ruins it.

All I know is props for the consolites for being interested enough in minecrat to buy it, and that it took 2 platforms to outsell the PC version

And it kinda exposes the soft spot consolites have for PC games, despite all the trash talk against PC gaming and minecraft, it turns out countless console gamers actually were interested enough in the game to have it outsell the PC version

Once again, kudos for minecraft for selling like hot cakes on consoles :) for this PC game to have a huge demand on CONSOLES

The PC version was never advertised. Marketing on TV and elsewhere didn't start in full force until after the console version was released. Hmmm, a more heavily marketed version of the game on TWO platforms sold better than a much less marketed version of the game, which never appeared on the top digital store on PC, sold more copies? You don't say!

Also, no one except idiot console fanboys care about number of sales. The people behind games care more about PROFIT. The PC version SMOKES the console version in terms of profit, since for a long time, the only way to buy it was direct from Notch! Every sale was almost pure profit, vs the profit sharing involved on consoles.

That's right. Consoles are different than PCs. Trucks are different than cars.

Fundamentally, they are the same. They have wheels and are powered by an internal combustion engine.

Trucks and cars are two kinds of automobiles.

Consoles and desktops are two kinds of PCs.

as do aeroplanes and motorcycles.

Not the ones powered by a jet engine.
